I think the ref would have given Bent's first ''goal'' if the earlier incident hadn't have happened. Then again, as Percy pointed out, the space-time continuum/butterfly theory/serendipity at play means that Bent wouldn't have got that chance if the ref had ruled a foul on Dunne earlier, thus altering the course of rest of the game and indeed, humanity.

Quote from: Dr Butler on April 18, 2011, 10:12:13 AMDunne was very lucky not to give a penalty away in the first half.It was two feet outside the box. To me it was 50/50 both players trying to muscle the other one off the ball with Dunne being the stronger. It could easily have been given as a foul but I think the ref saw it the same way.

When Heskey went off he got a deserving applause as everyone recognised his performance. after that for 10 or 15 minutes our attack clearly missed him as were very rarely winning flick-ons and the high ball.
I went to West Ham on Saturday and I can see why they want to move. It's a right dive. It didn't even have numbers on the seats as they'd worn away. They're in big trouble now, with Man City and Chelsea away as their next 2 games.
The Dunne challenge was no worse than Taylors on Bent the week before in the penalty box and we got nothing for that. There weren't any pundits saying that should have been a sending off.

There weren't any pundits saying that should have been a sending off.The one on Bent was a penalty, but not a sending off. As for the Dunne challenge, it was a foul and red card. Cole had got in front of him and he pushed him with his fore arm. As it happens though, I couldn't care less! We were robbed at Everton, had a goal disallowed against the toon and there was nothing wrong with Bent's goal on saturday. You win some, you lose some.

Why?He was on your summer transfer target list and for the life of me, I couldn't understand why. Even the West Ham fans refer to him as CFC.At least you're in good company with LeeB. Nutters the pair of you.
