An all-round poor performance with the ball from England so far, however Finn and Swann have bowled well since the delayed resumption today. Swann and Strauss took a couple of blinding slip catches. 479 all out which is a lead of 7.

We've missed Jimmy in this match and hopefully they won't bowl as badly as a unit for the rest of the summer.

I'm a big Pietersen fan, but how many times in the last 1-2 years has a commentator used the phrase "he's short of runs", I'm thinking that this summer should be do or die for him because at the moment it's all about what he could do for England rather than what he is doing. He is 30ish so potential is a thing of the past. Time for him to perform consistently again I think.

If he hasn't got his eye back in by the time India comes to town, and if Bresnan is fit again, I'd drop him and tell him to go and get some form on the county circuit if he wants to play for England again. I'd then look to line up as - Strauss, Cook, Trott, Bell, Morgan, Prior, Bresnan, Broad, Swann, Anderson, Tremlett. For me that gives us an extra bowler to share the load, but at the same time is capable of holding his bat.

Bell should have been given run out, but he's really trying to motor.

Morgan out for 4, sacrificed trying to get quick runs.

Just wasting wickets here, we should have declared.

The one issue with Strauss is that he is over defensive.........we should have declared when we were 290 ahead and then put all the fielders around the bat, why have a deep square leg ???

I would send Broad back to Notts and tell him to play some 2nd eleven cricket, he needs to bowl some overs.........

Cheeky fuckers! Piss off India, the tour is in England, can't believe they are allowed to dictate what rules we play by. We should play Pakistan instead, just to annoy them.

Sky have got Shane Warne commentating on this test, presumably because of his Hampshire connections.

Gower interviewed him first thing this morning and was so fawning. Made me want to barf! Asking him about his business interests and participation in poker tournaments; he didn't ask the question that was uppermost in my mind.

What's it like to shag Liz Hurley?
