Why has there been no play in the cricket today? it has been overcast, but not too bad in Chelmsley today and hasn't rained at all - Get the lazy sods back out there.

There has been about 30 minutes play. They went off first for light and then for rain. I was listening to the BBC on-line commentary, the Bears fans were not happy and their language was a little colurful. It got so bad that they had to turn their effects mic down.

The Bears want to play but as bad light is now the umpire's call, if they're not happy with it then tough luck on the players and spectators.

Thanks VZL

They do seem to be playing again now, think the umpire's must have been taking the piss a bit, hasn't been that dark.

The umpires took them off for bad light apparently for most of the morning, Bears now 440/5 looking to get to 450 and bowl them out twice, weather looks quite bright now. Hants 118-2 in reply to Lancs 388

The umps have the say on bad light these days and have called the Bears off in this match and in the previous one. Kevin Howells on twitter said that light meters should be brought back as the PR backlash is making cricket look a bit stupid particularly over both these instances because the Bears wer batting and never wanted to go off!

A mate has just phoned me from Edgbaston, he says that the hitting from Rikki Clarke was brutal, we've clawed back most of that lost time now.

We won't, bonus points are only earned for the first 110 overs of the 1st innings. We've got 3 bonus points to date with another 3 available for bowling Notts out.

126 off 101 balls with 96 scored in boundaries, 18 x 4 and 4 sixes. He scored 30 off 77. Piss poor effort if you ask me (winky thing)

The bonus points used to be from the first 120 overs, but have been changed in the last few years to 110.

Think the bowling points are something like:-

3-5 Wickets = 1 Point
6-8 Wickets = 2 Points
9-10 Wickets = 3 Points

Weather here (well in Chelmsley anyway) is slightly brighter than yesterday, but still a bit overcast.
