98 all out. How we managed to lose that having bowled Hants out for 141 in the 1st innings is beyond me.

There goes our challenge in all likelyhood.

Woakes took 7 for 20 and then scored 60odd in the first innings and finished on the losing side.  That has to be some sort of record.

That is what, I believe, is called a capitulation.

Still got a game in hand, but the Championship is now Lancashire's to lose.   Pity if it comes to pass, as I've always enjoyed taking the piss out of the natives for their record over the last 80 years,

Well we are doing ok in the current match and Durham have lost again so who knows !? Have to say the system whereby 3 of the team who have played most of the season are pulled away from an important CC game to feature in a meaningless ODI is farcical and would never happen in football.

Chanderpaul held us together today.  Westwood and Troughton struggled again and Chopra's two double centuries seem a long long time ago.  Great that Tim Ambrose seems back to somewhere near his best though.  I wonder if he'll be offered another contract.

I think that it's Lancashire's to lose now. Assuming we win the current game, we'll still be a few points behind them. The capitulation against Hamsphire will prove to be more significant than the points deduction following the Pears game.

That said, and to quote Sir Ronald of Saunders, do you want to bet against us?

one of the main reasons Lancs fail to win the title is the rain that falls there, Still think this will cost em

Clutching at straws there a bit mate! Two of Lancs remaining games are away.

Remaining games for the Bears and Lancs:

31st August: Bears v Yorks @ Edgbaston
31st August: Worcs v Lancs @ New Road

7th Sept: Bears v Notts @ Edgbaston
7th Sept: Lancs v Hants @ Blackpool

12th Sept: Hants v Bears @ Rose Bowl
12th Sept: Somst v Lancs @ Taunton

The Pears can do us a favour but we have to start winning the remaining games with maximum batting points.

Oh bugger, didn't realise they still had to play Worsetershire.

Congratulations on winning the County Championship, Lancashire.

Congratulations on winning the County Championship, Lancashire.

Both Worcestershire and Hampshire are fighting for their lives. Hants are 21 points behind Worcs who in turn are only a point behind Yorks. The Bears and Pears can do each other a good turn here!

This time last year the Bears were still under threat and we pulled away. All is not lost but max points are needed from every game.

When did the Bears sign Chanderpaul, his picture isn't even on the website?
