Finally a win for the Bears, it seems like we've had to wait a long time for that.

Yeah good to see the Bears finally managed a win, did their best to balls it up though at the end. What was Barker thinking of, just 2 balls left, one run needed to tie,two to win,all he needed to do was take the single and put Woakes back on strike, but no he tried to hit it out of the ground.Brainless!Well done Woakes for keeping cool and seeing us home

I thought that the Bears were going to win another one tonight. Lancashire have a fantastic bowling attack and they did really well to defend 139. I watched them defend 110 last night live on Sky. That Junaid is a wonderful bowler, straight out of the Wasim/Waqar mould.

Paul Collingwood took 5 for 6, including a hat-trick as far as I can tell, in the Durham v Northants T20 this evening.  Northants all out for 47.

Talk about a gulf between county and international level: his dobbers were virtually useless for England.

Not the result the Pears wanted, i think they now more or less have to win at Notts tonight to qualify for the quarter finals.

Steve Rouse is retiring at the end of this season. His role is advertised on the ECB website.

A groundsman at a first class cricket ground would be one of my ideal jobs.

Another one-day defeat for the Bears tonight.  Their recent form has been pretty woeful.

Yes, just got back. The lost overs didn't help but here was an air of inevitability about their innings, every time it looked like we might be getting on top they hit a six. New pavilion looked nice with people in it mind, might get a membership for next year.

Am amazed that there was actually a worse team than the Bears in this years t20 group we were in,mind you we even managed to lose to them! I dread the one day match against Scotland tomorrow the way we are playing in the one day game.

We aren't doing too badly in the forty over stuff to be fair.

Anyway in proper cricket we are third with a game in hand, should be second if we hadn't had those ten points (wrongly) taken off us.

Well, i said i dreaded the match against Scotland and surprise suprise we have just lost. Another spineless performance from most  of the team. Time after time the likes of Clarke, Troughton and Barker fail and yet are picked game after game .How do these guys keep their place? How bad do they have to be before they are left out? Interesting that only Ant Botha showed any fightat  all and he was only playing because Maddy and Chanderpaul were not available and he has not been offered a contract next season and can leave.

Christ, that's bad.
Barker for me is rubbish and Johnson just keeps wicket and can't bat.

Glad to see there is someone else out there who thinks Barker is rubbish. Game after game he fails with the bat and his bowling is expensive. Yesterday the wm commentator Clive Eakin was going on about how good the Bears had bowled and had not given a no ball or indeed a wide away. For some reason our captain decided he would give Barker his first bowl of the match in the last over.If you follow the bears you just knew he would either bowl a no ball or a wide.Sure enough he bowled a wide with the last ball and the extra ball was hammered for 4 which is what the margin of defeat was.I keep hearing this guy is very promising but when are we ever going to see it?

I agree with your sentiments about Barker but think that a little perspective is needed. Yes we lost to Scotland by a few runs (and Barker's last ball wide laid the foundations of our defeat), but chasing under DL is a lottery and always seems weighted in favour of the fielding side. I think that we're making progress and we've the nucleus of a competitive squad.
