Trouble is that Westwood century has probably kept him his place in the team for the rest of the season.
I'm not sure that it has.  Apparently the Bears have signed Chanderpaul as the overseas player from mid-July.

Chanderpaul is more of a number 4/5 though, not likely to take Westwood's spot is he?

Hey, if Westwood is finally rediscovering the form that got him the captaincy in the first place then great.

Not a straight swap though - I suspect it'll be either Maddy or Westwood who makes way, with Porterfield opening alongside Chopra.  Maddy's bowling may just give him the edge.  On current form it should be Troughton who misses out but he's skipper so that's not going to happen.  Chanderpaul's a limpet so I think he'll bat at 3.

Supposed to be pissing down all day today - We probably only need about half an hour of play, to win the game though.

I went along yesterday and considering the forecast, got in a good day's play. A good, gritty performance - the Bears strangled Somerset basically, and were patient for the wickets before they collapsed after tea.

Like the post-match comment from Giles summing up Rankin's impact - "he's a big bastard."

We knew about the first, now at last he's showing something of the latter.

Well done Warwick, hopefully we won't be looking down this season with the threat of relegation.

Better than giving them some piss-easy Duckworth-Lewis target to chase in 5 overs though.

Average is being kind, on present form the bears are awful. Things are bad when Derbyshire can thrash us. Still at least we are doing ok in the 4 day game
