My God, if you're in the Edgbaston area get yourselves over to the ground where you could be about to witness something you'll be telling your kids about in years to come.

It took me a few seconds!

Porterfield has a 50 now, although looking at the stats he doesn't appear to have hit the ball off the square! What is going on?

Windy conditions today with a lot of cloud about, not ideal for batting, so i guess they're having to work for everything they get.

Might pop down tomorrow, I've got a day off. I'll check out the weather in the morning.

Trouble is that Westwood century has probably kept him his place in the team for the rest of the season.

Shivnarine Chanderpaul to join Warwickshire

Chanderpaul, 36, will arrive at Edgbaston in around three weeks and will stay for the rest of the season.

The veteran of 130 Tests and 268 one-day internationals replaces Mohammad Yousuf, who played for the Bears during the early weeks of the campaign.

Chanderpaul has had previous spells in England with Durham and Lancashire.

Warwickshire's director of cricket Ashley Giles said: "It is universally acknowledged that Shiv is a class act and has proved his worth time after time at the highest level.

"Not only does he possess the qualities and talents that we are looking for in abundance, but he also comes with a reputation as a hard-working cricketer, a great character and a professional with a tremendous work ethic.

"We are delighted that he has agreed to join us for the vitally important final stages of our season."

Went down today, rain stayed off (only ten minutes lost after lunch).
Good stuff, Trescothick was the key wicket, Somerset have very little after him, Kieswetter is woefully out of form.

Rikki Clarke bowled superbly, real hostility on what looked like a decent batting wicket.

I'm not sure that it has.  Apparently the Bears have signed Chanderpaul as the overseas player from mid-July.
