Former Bear Mark Wagh has brought forward his retirement and left the game today.  He's had a shocking season and as he doesn't play T20 he has agreed with Notts that he'll go now.

Was a fine batsman for us and a decent bowler too in the early days.  We should never have let him go but he didn't get on with Mark Greatbatch.  I played with him once or twice in the junior teams at West Bromwich Dartmouth CC and he's a good bloke.  I believe he's planning to go into the legal profession.

The Pears don't give their supporters much to cheer about, but today we achieved a splendid win against Notts, our first in division 1 for 7 years.  OK, it's not as good as beating Arsenal at the Emirates, but it's still quite satisfying.
A great win finally after knocking on the door a few times this season. I thought we had blown it after our latest batting collapse in the 1st innings. We are off the bottom as well! im off to see the boys on friday in the T20 at Old Trafford, cant wait! confidence should be a bit higher now. Come on you Pears!

Great performance from the Bears.

Durham went off like an express train and we did well to restrict them to 151. Great bowling in the last 5 overs by Carter, Barker and Maddy.

Great innings by Porterfield to see us through with 11 balls to spare, which in this form of the game is some achievement.

Very good performance with bat and ball.  Sounds like a good knock from Porterfield - hope he can get some momentum going and take that into the county championship when it resumes.  Troughton's struggles with the bat go on though.
