Lambert at Norwich

Good call

Have good friends who support Colchester and some who work there - they were glad to get rid of him and classed him as an O'Neil clone.

I know a few Colchester fans too and it strikes me they were just very bitter when he upped and went to their local rivals right after Colchester had tonked Norwich away on the first day of the season. They rated him very highly indeed until he did the dirty on them..

You would have to say too that his decision has been totally vindicated to date

Did the dirty on them

My point exactly, a clone.

Gus Poyet has worked wonders at Brighton and got them playing some lovely stuff, having said that I'm not sure he's ready to step up two leagues yet, although we could very well both be in the same league next season, oh Im confusing myself, apoint him, apoint him now!

Have this already pencilled in as one of my away trips next year...a short train trip for me and a day out in Brighton, excellent...

Looking at that list of potential managers actually depresses me. It probably has pretty much all of the "best" managers we could realistically get in the summer, but if you take the current and ex manager out of the list, I think the combined total of trophies won by them is 2 Dutch FA Cups, both by Jol.

Not quite what I was expecting 5 years into Randy's ownership. That Sheff Utd game seems a lifetime ago now.

Why no mention of Benitez nor Grayson?

If we'd done this a few years ago Paul Jewell would be getting the Owen Coyle vote.

I think there's more to Coyle than Jewell. For a start his teams play good football. He's proved himself wherever he's gone.
As I mentioned earlier, I want somebody that has the hunger to succeed at Aston Villa. Coyle I'd imagine, would certainly fit into that catagory. He may not have the experience especially when it comes to dealing in the higher end of the transfer market but it's not as if we need a big overhaul. We have a great squad, it just needs some direction and an improvement here and there.

What I don't think we need is a manager that sees us as a great addition to his pension plan. That's not a dig at Houllier, just highlighting the need for somebody that really wants the job. We could do a lot worse than Coyle. You never know Chris, he might bring Gary Cahill with him. (snigger)

Who did Jewell take to 6th/7th in the league?

It's a flavour of the month vote, I want proven quality. Also, I really don't like his face, he looks like he sells smack to kids, and as this a purely hypothetical poll as there is no vacancy that's as good a reason as any.

Exactly? He left Colchester for completely different reasons to those (as far as we can tell) surrounding MON

And anyway, he left way before MON did so how could they class him as a MON clone for doing the dirty on them?

The Colchester fans I know thought he was the best thing since sliced bread and overnight changed their tune to 'we didn't like him anyway' when he went to Norwich. I think that happens quite often in football

Tears me apart to say it, but Chris is spot on.

The way his price seems to inflate week on week by next season he'd cost us £100 million with add ons for every thousand England caps he wins.

Now, now Chris.
Admit it, you were wrong about him.

I wouldn't mind Coyle.  His Burnley team played football, his Bolton team play good football. He's got them to the semi final of the FA cup so at least he appears to take that competition seriously.

That's a massive improvement on what we have at present.

I voted Coyle but I think the reality is Houllier will only go if we go down.  If we stay up I think Randy would give him the summer transfer window to offload the deadwood and shit stirrers and bring in players suited to his style of play, then give him til Christmas to prove his worth or otherwise. If we go down the above list will be superfluous and we'd need to look for a manager prepared to work in the Championship with a brief to get us back up. Maybe someone like Chris Hughton?

There's more chance of MON apologising for his brand of shit football and leaving the way he did than Chris admitting he was wrong.

In what way? That I though he was a cheeky sod at 19 to expect guaranteed first team football? It would be like Clark asking to move now because he wasn't starting every week. Good player, not great.
