I would go for Coyle he his doing wonders at Bolton and had Burnley playing good football aswell like others have said Moyes would be my second choice but i don't know if he would leave Everton and come to us.

Just because coyle needs his false teeth resetting is no reason to dislike him - at least he's not as bad as jimmy sirrel looked!

I think moyes would come this summer and would do an ok job but id prefer coyle slightly ahead of moyes or jol.

You never know Chris, he might bring Gary Cahill with him

The way his price seems to inflate week on week by next season he'd cost us £100 million with add ons for every thousand England caps he wins.
Now, now Chris.
Admit it, you were wrong about him.

In what way? That I though he was a cheeky sod at 19 to expect guaranteed first team football? It would be like Clark asking to move now because he wasn't starting every week. Good player, not great.

Got to agree with Chris, he woud'nt be still at Bolton if he was a great player.

Sven ?
We've got to trim the wage bill, could'nt see Sven doing that, on a seperate note I heard yesterday on the local football programme on BBC that Leicester will sign Yakubu in the summer for £5m and 50k a week even if they don't get promoted, thats madness

If we'd done this a few years ago Paul Jewell would be getting the Owen Coyle vote.

Who did Jewell take to 6th/7th in the league?

It's a flavour of the month vote, I want proven quality. Also, I really don't like his face, he looks like he sells smack to kids, and as this a purely hypothetical poll as there is no vacancy that's as good a reason as any.

Tend to agree (though not with the smack part. More likely to be batteries and razors in a down at heel boozer).

Latest in vogue name, possibly living the dream and making the most of his 15 minutes of fame. See also John Gregory and Phil Orange.

He's less dislikeable and in love with himself than that pair, admittedly. And he might in time turn out to be a decent manager. But I'd like to see us go for someone who has a better track record in the game.  For that kind of candidate we'll need to wait until the summer though. And pray and hope we're still in the top flight.

Indeed, Boltons defence has been awful the past few years at Villa Park, its only because he scores goals that he's rated so highly, same as Lescott.

I do like the sound of Martin Jol and Chris Houghton, especially as they've worked together before, but i wonder if now Houghton has had a taste of management, he'll want another crack at it on his own somewhere.

Why no mention of Benitez nor Grayson?

Benetiz is back living in the UK and wanting a job back in the Premiership.

I'd have him in a heartbeat.

Grayson I've heard is being lined up for the Blackburn job in the Summer should they stop up.

I'd like Coyle. We're big enough to keep him for the long term, we can offer him a bigger platform and he's young enough to want to do it. I don't think he'd get us right into the top 4, and he might struggle for a while. But he's positive and got a good media image.

Can't stand his voice though.

Why are people talking about Moyes? Never in a million years would he come to us.

Of course he would. He's not gonna get a bigger job until he does something of note.
The current 'big 6' are all very unlikely as things stand so it's us or abroad left.

I've voted for Houllier, which has surprised me a bit. It's for a couple of reasons, though.

The first is, despite the predicament we're in now, I genuinely think he's a good manager. I know many will accept that he WAS a good manager, but I just feel that there is something in what he's trying to do, and I'm actually quite interested to see just what he might put together. Maybe that's blind faith, but looking at his achievements over the years then, well, he must have something.

My second reason is simply because I feel he has had to deal with an unprecedented amount of turbulence, in the form of injuries, player commitment and so on. I know I don't know everything that has happened 'behind the scenes', but I've seen enough on the pitch to see that some of our players are performing dismally. Honestly, I don't care if they think Houllier is a total dickhead; I've thought similarly about some of my bosses in the past, and no doubt some of my staff think so of me. I always took pride in my own performance, and I'd expect the same of others, professional footballers or not. Regrettably, I don't think that Dunne, Collins, Warnock, perhaps more, have done that. For me, they are more to blame than Houllier, even if it is he who ultimately takes responsibility.

In short, I'd like him to succeed because I can't stand the thought of the players getting away with this sort of shit.

Moyes without any doubt and I reckon he would come here too. We both need a fresh start.
If not him I like Coyle and his teams seem to play some good football. There is something (I don't know what) I'm not sure about Jol.
