Well said Pete thats where we have gone so wrong.........we need to pick the top 6 batters, a wicketkeeper and then the 4 best one day bowlers and not the best 2 bowlers and 2 bits and pieces players........and why hasnt Trott being given a few overs and Bell can bowl too

Regardless of what happens against the Windies, I suspect there will be a lot of changes in the ODI set up after the World Cup. The problem we have is with the likes of Yardy/Wright. Not taking away the fact that they are fucking shit, but also - what are they? Bowlers? Batsmen? All-Rounders?

We also need to sort out the opening partnership - I like Prior, but I'm not sure the way he's playing at the moment that he's the right "foil" as it were for Strauss. We need someone that will come out and from the start look to take the game to the bowlers. Take Sehwag, for example, every game he goes out and his aim is to hit a 4 off the first ball - something he has done in all 5 Indian games so far. By having that attitude he is putting pressure on the oppositions strike bowler before he's even began his run up. Of course at the other end he has Tendaulkar so that helps too.

They say in 50 over cricket that whatever your score is after 30 overs, you should look to double it.

After 30 overs India were 197-1.

And after 34 overs, 230 for 1!

Tendulkar has another 100. I expect him to reach his century of International Centuries before the tournament is over.

Very embarrassing. One shock is one thing but to lose to ireland and bangladesh shows something is wrong. It must be the team. Why persist with the average Yardy/Bopara/Wright type players? the have consistently been average so why do we persist with them, hopoing that they will turn into the bits and pieces players only England think are the way to win 50 over games?

I agree with Yardy and Wright, they are the jack of no trade type players! However Bopara has plenty of talent and I'd persevere with him.

India lost 8 wickets for 27 runs, terrible. They must have been taking lessons from England.

296 all out, the last 9 wickets going for 29!

Oh for Dale Steyn, we would have won comfortably yesterday.

Considering he conceded 14 runs off the one over, to finish with 5-50 was an excellent return.

Well they did almost exactly the same thing against us so they must have learnt it elsewhere.

He just bowled exactly how you should bowl at the end, which consists of not hurling down wides and half volleys.

Finally an interesting game not involving England.

South Africa the best team so far for me.
