That's ridiculous! Tremlett wasn't allowed to play in our warm-up games even though he stayed with the squad as cover. What's the point of naming a 15 man squad and then bringing in a replacement? And it's clearly tactical as Dougie's a quick and Hussey a batsman.

I agree to be honest I think you should be allowed a 17 man squad, to accommodate injuries. However once the squad is decided and the tournament starts, no more calling in players.

Great win today, good recovery after the other day.

Pietersen apparently flying home on Monday. I dare say England will call up Morgan as he is netting with Middlesex and that's not a bad awap. Bell up to open with Strauss I'd hope

TBH if it was the Pietersen of 3 years ago, then it would be a huge loss.  Whilst now we can cope without him.

Hopefully Morgan will come in and make a huge difference to the middle order.

Been confirmed now on the beeb - KP out and Morgan back in.

As I commented yesterday - with every wicket England took yesterday KP didn't seem to be celebrating with the rest of the team. Makes me wonder a bit about this "hernia" problem - after all, would he have bowled 8/9 overs if it was that bad?

Anyway - are we all psyched up for today's clash of the titans - Kenya v Canada?

That is bad news for us, we'll miss KP, but Morgan in is good.

I have a day booked off work and think, "I'll watch a bit of the cricket". What viewing delight have the organisers got for me? Canada versus sodding Kenya. Thanks for that. Why can't they play two games a day?

Don't necessarily think Pieterson will be a huge loss, in fact I think they're better for this change - depending on just how fit Morgan is.

In poorer England teams over the years KP was the best/ most important player by far. But most of the first five look like they have plenty of runs in them now.  A few of that lot may miss out but it currently looks like at least three in any game will chip in. With decent depth further down to order - England bat as far down as 9 now, this shouldn't be a huge problem.

KP keeps his place in the side because you always think there might be one special innings in him, but those knocks have become more and more spread out in recent years. He hasn't really learnt or progressed over the years, still getting out to the same mindless rash stokes, still playing for himself rather than the team.

Would be tempted to open with Trott. Think he has the discipline and allround game to be completely unflustered whether he opens or comes in at 5/6.

No, keep Trott at 3, he's playing well there. Bell has opened before, but he's also playing okay at four.
Hmmm...Bopara to open maybe?

Bopara to open for me, and Morgan to slot into his roll in the side.

I'd bring Prior back up to open personally.

Strauss
Prior
Trott
Bell
Bopara
Morgan
Collingwood
Bresnan
Swann
Broad
Anderson

That is how I would line up against Bangladesh.

Collingwood may be out of touch but I'd still trust him more to get runs/wickets than Yardy or Wright.

That makes sense to me, VS, you need somebody up there who can make the most of the power play.

I agree, im no expert on the pitches in Bangladesh but I wouldnt have thought they would be that "spinner" friendly but
when we go back to India/Sri Lanka I would swop Colly for Treadwell
