Did anyone say whether the one female cyclist is ill or just suffering from Alopecia?

She didn't appear on the Beeb balcony like the others.

Radio 5 earlier was saying that all three had overcome medical problems, eg asthma, alopecia etc.

However, I'm not sure how hair loss affects how you ride a bike.

I'm sure it would affect your confidence, especially as a woman and that would affect your performance. Mind you there are no worries about helmet hair I suppose.

When you see her without a wig you can only imagine the stick she must have taken growing up. Especially as it started when she was only 9.

Brilliant tweet from Newsthump.

Gold medals for a mixed race woman, and an African immigrant who thanked Allah. @AidanBurleyMP must be vomiting in the sink about now.

I wasn't on earlier and so much as happened today but I loved the female rowers reaction earlier. When they were being interviewed straight after winning. one was speechless and in shock and the other was just crying with joy.

It was the same with Greg Rutherford's interview, it was a lot of stuttering and struggling but you could tell it was just pure shock, emotion and happiness.

Right, Boxing now.

Oh and I briefly popped over to ITV where a trail for the forthcoming series of the X Factor was being aired. They should cancel it in shame after tonight.

I thought that ITV had shut down and all gone on holiday for these two weeks. Their ratings must be awful.

Fancy having a nose in goal.

That's exactly what I thought. There's not enough vitriol on this thread, useless flappy twat!

He'll get his, he's got to go back to the STY now...that'll teach him, the loser!

"we're going to be on a stamp" is one of the best comments ever after winning a major tournament, in any sport.  So wonderfully random that it was the first thing that went through her head after it sunk in that they'd won!

Well, hopefully the Hockey girls can make up for it. I've seen how good the rowers scrub up so want to see the hockey girls on the sofa after winning a medal.
I thought the Hockey girls  got knocked out today?

Just, WOW. what a day. A once in a generation, if not lifetime, celebration and in England. And I'm in Nigeria. Boooooo.

That was a truly, utterly extraordinary evening. Gobsmackingly brilliant.

Farah striding away in the last lap is up there with Pendleton going round the rest of the field like they were on mobility scooters yesterday for best sight of the games for me.

I had something in my eye when his Mrs and daughter legged it on after.
