well, where was he supposed to look?

If he is bad, what does that make the camera operator transmitting her behind to millions?

Any idea what the new/demo sports are this year?

None

There haven't been any since 1992

Being as they stopped doing mens rounders for this games I thought they would have replaced it but looking on Wiki, they will not be replaced with golf and Rugby sevens until 2016 so we are two competitions down this year.

Adding Golf and Rugby Sevens for 2012 would have made perfect sense.

Adding those sports in Brazil; not so much

We had that very debate in the pub a few nights ago.

But we were applying logic in a world where governing bodies are very often staffed by self serving, pompous eejits whose only concern is to remain in power and leave a legacy, any legacy, no matter how mindless.

My brother is driving up to see the football in Newcastle on Saturday and they are asking people to use the designated 'Park and Walk' area. It costs £17.00, Olympic spirit.

Sport, sport I like sport, running and jumping I'm a physical sort.

Funny how songs just pop into your head, I probably haven't heard that for over 30 years but now I can't stop singing it to myself.

I realise that I'm posting to a very limited audience here and that most will have never heard of The Stukas.

I'm a physical jerk.

Gandy messed up in the pool, should have been medal contender and went out in the heats.

I dont know about anyone else, but I am completely underwhelmed. I am a self confessed Olympics addict and I've been counting down the days for it all to get started. But now its here, we (Team GB) seem woefully inferior to the rest of the World - especially the Chinese, who are starting to bore me winning everything.

Maybe it was all the hype or maybe it is just bad luck, but we are getting beaten at everything. Just today we have underperformed in swimming, shooting, archery, badminton, judo, fencing, canoeing, diving and sailing. We just dont seem to be getting that home team bounce that other nations have had in the past.

The pressure is on the cyclists and rowers to bring home the goods.

We have lost at all those sports but by better competitors from all over the world.......the Olympics is a world wide event and apart from the canoeing we wernt expected to do very well

There have been some British athletes that have exceeded expectations so far, but a fair few more have definitely under performed.

I still think the Cyclists and Rowers will end up with a lot of medals, but it really needs our big athletics hopes, Ennis and Farah to win for it to be a successful Olympics results wise.

I'm glad you included that word.
