I would like to see "Mr Methane" light the Olympic flame from a distance of 20 feet away with a huge Olympionesque flame throwing fart.
I'm normally as cynically underwhelmed by things as the your typical H&V poster, but I think the UK hosting the Olympics will be right up there as one of the great sporting memories of my lifetime. I was lucky in the first round of ticket allocation and I've managed to add to that by getting some basketball and volleyball tickets today. Not my first choices but I'm determined to enjoy the experience. However, Thursday 9th August is the day as far as I'm concerned: tickets for the evening athletics session, including the finals of the Mens' 200m and 800m - and maybe a British gold in the triple jump. Can't wait!

Can't wait! I agree. I too am lucky enough to have tickets for the Rowing, Boxing and Athletics and can't wait. I think this is the sort of event that shows off Britain at its best and I was hoping that the normal cynicism would not occur. I think by and large though, with the scenes at the torch relay, that most people are really behind it and determined to enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity. My colleague at work is taking part in the relay in Wolves next month. This will be THE highlight of her life I can assure you and because of all she has gone through, is a richly deserved honour.Roll on July !!!
Shawn Johnson has had to retire from gymnastics at age 20. So there's one less reason to watch that so-called sport.Saw her interviewed on TV today. wow, she's cute
