You are right gervilla.

I see many saying we will be mid-table mediocrity. After losing Young and letting Makoun out, would say we are now one of about 5 or 6 relegation candidates. Stoke, Fulham etc are pulling ahead of us and Blackburn have got a good player in Dann.

I can accept the need to cut the overall spending on salaries and to try to shift over-paid, under-used players.

I can accept, indeed welcome, the intent to give young players a chance.

What is very hard to accept is the apparent lack of any real strategy for this transfer window. This should have been managed so much better, especially because of the risk that the signals which the scale of spending gives out alienates fans and players. Instead, what we'll get is ever smaller crowds and our better players wanting out.

AA Gent's Igor Vetokele had some offers from different clubs, including Villa so I've been told, but has chosen Cercle Bruges. TBH I have never heard of him. Apparently a Belgium U19 player... Ah well, who cares anyway eh.
