Surely Bent can't play for 3 teams in 12 months or something like that?

Bentner is woeful. I know we are short on numbers but we're not that desperate .

I really like Bendtner, he'd be an good upgade on Heskey and i reckon he'd work well alongside Bent. Can't see it happening though.

I quite rate Bentner but am against signing him as his ego could not cope with being on our bench and playing him would necessitate us playing 442 again and a flat midfield of Nzog - Petrov - Delph - Albrighton is scary to say the least.

Sometimes Bendtner is ace, other times he's toss.

He's never had a run of 15 games in a row as a striker.

yesterday the rumour was arsenal were linked to bent for around £25m, can see that as far more likely than offering £16m for gabby , newcastle were linked with him in january with a fee widely quoted by their forums at about £5m- no way would gabby be worth £16M plus a player , and if arsene bid £6m for cahill id expect him to offer nearer £4m for gabby-although it seems bendtner is in advanced talks with someone.

I'm pretty sure I read most of the posts saturday and I thought the Bent to Arsenal rumours were purely hypothetical along the lines of "If Wenger wanted Bent and offered 25m then we would definitely sell".  ...and then it spiralled downwards from there.

Yes, that's exactly what happened, no rumours at all. Bent's not going anywhere, well not yet anyway.

Couldn't see him fitting in with Bent.

Also, he's a bit shit - that's why he hasn't played more often. Simple!

Liverpool and Arsenal are the clubs in for Benayoun according to the Beeb. Wipe him off the list.

Onourha on a 12 month loan with a view to a long term deal would be better than Hutton for me.

Hargreaves, Onourha and Kayal of those linked seem the most suited to us.

agree with you clampy, not sure how he would do alongside bent but bendtner is a decent striker.

Can't see all this happening, but wasn't he on loan to BCFC scored a load of goals?  Was AM there then?  Or am I thinking of someone else?

I've never seen anything from Bendtner that would make me want him down B6. 1 goal in 4 games type of striker in a team that creates a hell of a lot more chances than we do. It would be 1 in 4 months for us *winky*

Pure speculation but maybe the signing of Oxhill Chamberlain (sp?) spells the end of Walcott.
Would People prefer Gabby or Walcott as their outside forward?

He was 1 in 4 there as well I think.

I make it we have a squad of 22 as things stand if you include Baker, Gardner, Beye, Lichaj and part of me thinks they may stick with this until January. Hope I am wrong as woefully short in midfield (other positions ok I reckon).

hmmm, I like that idea.  He can cover Centre Back too so if he comes good then the loss of Cuellar next year will not be so bad.

That's how I remember it as well.

I'm guessing it's just eastie getting over-excited, seeing something written down and assuming it must be true.

It was like that. And Bent would go like a shot.
