Wish Jean Deux all the best in Greece. For whatever reason he's just not got going with us.

He'll be playing with King Olof there.

Has Beye really gone? I need confirmation before putting up the bunting.

With so many departures we really will need a couple of decent players in. With the successive dashing of hopes that has happened this window I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get them.

Probably a mad scramble up until 11pm on Wednesday.  We might get two in but will just miss out on getting one over the line.  And -unlike Arsenal- we probably won't be given an extra fortnight to complete the deal.

I imagine if Beye is going we'll be paying a chunk of his wages, no way will Hull be able to afford them.

With Hargreaves the gamble wouldn't be financial - he is unattached and would be a pay as you play, I guess - the gamble is making him our one incoming midfielder and relying on him to any extent.

According to someone with a better grasp of these things than me, pay as you play doesn't mean they don't get paid at all if they don't play. Unfortunately.

That would be the only thing that would make a deal for Hargreaves even vaguely attractive.

It's all pointing to Hutton is'nt it? I've not seen a great deal of him. Spuds did pay a lot of money for him (£9m i thnk) and he's worked with Mcleish before. As for the midfielder, Hargreaves would be too much of a gamble. One tackle and he could be crocked again.

Hutton is a good player, and will be back with a manager who got the best out of him. £3m will be excellent business with the promising Herd as back up.

I'd assume pay as you play would be something like a basic wage anywhere between 10-20K and a 'bonus' if they actually make it onto the pitch. If that is the case, best part of a million basic a year for a bloke who has played what, half a dozen games in the past 3 years doesn't make sense if you're being a bit careful with the cash.

Not far off.

Five games in three years.

Isn't Hargraves the type of player other clubs have took a punt on and it's turned out to be a bargain? If he plays half the games with say Bannan playing the rest I think it will be a risk worth taking.

Hargreaves has barely kicked a ball for three years. It's a little more than a punt, and it's extremely hopeful to think he could play half the games this season.

If people start exulting over the arrival of the likes of Hutton (3rd choice at Spurs), Hargreaves (certified dead on at least three occasions) and Benayoun (does something exciting that catches the eye of the casual supporter about three times a season) then I'm eyeing up a patch of wall between the CD shelves to bang my head on.

Having the first Zombie in PL history is something to get the missing thousands back through the gates.

Now this is exactly why I don't work in Marketing. I'd not have spotted the potential of the undead market, especially the Twilight set of younger folk.

I am inclined to agree with you, but don't forget to select a suitable track for the head banging session. King Crimson's 21st Century Schizoid Man is my current favourite for this therapeutic activity.

Good point - I  lean towards Ramones - Beat On The Brat though.

I'd rather have Hargreaves who wants to prove his fitness and wants to play games, than have Beye sitting on his arse waiting for his next paycheck.

My feeling here is that our very own pelty asserted that the transfer fee for decent players that would improve what is already here is available once the dead wages are sorted. So why are people looking at the likes of Hargeaves with anything other than disbelief?

I'd rather have neither, to be honest.
