Yes to Hargreaves for me, no to Hutton. The guy Nooocastle are looking at from Inter for £5m is a much better deal.

Think we need another attacking wide player, Leon from RM would'nt be bad either.

Think he must be on for Spurs in part of any deal for little Vampire child.

Agreed. For all the chest beating by Levy, Modric will get his move. I admire his defiant stance, but had he sold him a month ago, Redknapp could have invested the money in a timely manner. Benayoun is a good player and someone we could do with, but he won't leave London if Spurs want him. I've always said Spurs need more midfielders.

redknapp insisting levy will not sell modric and hes apparently flown off on international duty now so looking as if levy has won the battle-parker poised to join spurs today.

Benayoun wouldn't come here. Spurs, Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked.

Hutton and Hargreaves would do me. Infact I'd be very happy with that. Hopefully Makoun stays though.

I think benayoun would see villa as a team where he would get games on a regular basis and wouldnt discount our chances of attracting him.

Ok so let's say that Levy does get his way. To what end? You've got a very public situation for the next 4 months or so of a player that is very upset and creating a massive distraction at the club. A club that just got whacked by a team not two years they beat out for a CL spot at the last moment that could do with some help. I might be entirely wrong but take the money would be my thinking especially if it's as high as being reported. I don't think Modric is worth that at all.

Not always that clear, though.

I agree that ideally, they'd have moved him on sooner in the window rather than waiting till the very end (if indeed they're going to sell him), but I also thought MON did very well to hold on to Barry for an extra year, so it really works both ways.

it will really depend on where Modric's head is at. Once Barry started to play he gave everything and yes we did benefit from him being with us for one more year. Modric wasn't picked against Man U, and even since then there have been statements by Redknapp about the player's strength of mind. I don't ever recall us talking about Barry that way once the season began.

Redknapp was clear on one thing -he doesnt want a repeat of the berbatov deal where he was sold right on the last minute and harry had no time to spend the cash, if they were going to sell it should have been done by now giving redknapp the chance to wheel and deal, but only levy will make that decision i guess.

I wouldn't say that Barry's performances were that great in the season after the Liverpool fiasco and we'll never know what he was saying or how he was behaving behind the doors.  Personally, in hindsight we should have taken the 17m from Liverpool and enjoyed a more harmonious squad and also avoided another season of transfer inflation.

Admittedly I have no idea who we should have bought instead but...

I don't think Redknapp wants that, but I strongly suspect Levy does.

Redknapp is clearly going to be the England manager next year. Does Levy want to give him 30m to spend?

that might be a decent call. We don't know what's gone on behind the scenes but given that Spurs were just in the CL, it's quite surprising on the surface that Redknapp has had to make to do with a number of small deals and loans. As your suggesting, why would Levy want to shell out big money now for a manager that may not be at the club in 12 months?
