The way the board are going if Arsenal offered 25 million I reckon they would take it. It has gone beyond stupid this summer. Piss up in a brewery.

It says it all that the main reason I don't think we'll sell Bent is that I don't think Arsenal would pay what we asked and that he is not their kind of player. Every time I build up some confidence something happens to leech that away.

I can't believe I am about to say this, but I reckon they would as well.

If I was Bent, I'd be gone in a shot, especially after these 3 games, what other team would play Heskey as a support striker who never actually passes to the main striker?

That's been my main worry so far this season. He had one disallowed at Fulham and he scored off a loose ball against Blackburn. Other than that, he seems to be feeding off scraps.

I think sooner or later, Eck needs to be a bit more positive in his line up at home, maybe along the lines of Albrighton out wide and Bannan or Ireland instead of Heskey.

We should match the 6 million offer from Stoke for Palacios, although they look a much more ambitious side to us.

Young money apparently spent in advance on bent and the downing cash on nzogbia , given and debts I presume.

It's embarrassing, just watching Liverpool now and the amount they can spend makes me sick.

The worry I have is that randy has maybe  decided the top 4 dream is no longer realistic and maybe recouping what money he can .

I never thought we'd have to compete with the likes of Stoke for players, but right now it looks like we do...sad state of affairs.

How much would we want and would they pay it?

I think it is very much a non-starter. File under B for bollocks.

or, file under A for,
And so, it begins !!

The simple fact is that you have to spend, spend spend to get anywhere in the Premier League. The general rule of thumb is that investment on the pitch is reciprocated by performances and league position. Vice versa if you dont spend and if you make cuts. Quite clearly Randy is cutting his losses, so how far he takes these cut backs will be relative to our quality on the pitch.

Agree totally. When they appointed Eck the only way to appease fans was let him get 4-5 players of 6-10 million range to improve a decimated squad. He has been allowed 2, while even more have left. If it were Doug, people would have held up placards and marched Trinity by now. I understand cutting back wage wise, but they are essentially causing total apathy with the fans, while George Osborne seems to have become their model of how to save money, cut, cut, cut.
