Letting Luke goes makes sense if we can't shift Beye.

Cuellar, Lichaj and Beye is enough if it allows us a Parker in midfield.

If McLeish is sufficiently impressed by Lichaj and Beye that he feels we can get by with them and it frees up money for a defensive midfielder then it's good.

If however, we are just planning on using the money to sign another average fullback to replace the average fullback we have let go then it is utterly pointless.
