I still think we have one or maybe two more players in our sights. Possibly waiting for any type of bids for Beye - Ireland = Not looking good ...........

Possible bid for Scott Parker if we can sell 2 fringe players. Seen as Parker would probably freeze Ireland out anyway, why not just a straight swap Ireland for Parker?

Not Villa relevant but I love this

Quote
Despite having spent 15 years in England, Wenger still hasn't learned or – one would hope – doesn't care that the best way for football managers working in north London to get the press on side is to offer them garrulous cheeky-chappy soundbites while feeding them a steady drip-feed of information of questionable veracity. That way, you can spend money hand over fist (while simultaneously turning your nose up at signing Luis Suárez) only to see your team slump to extraordinary levels of goal-shy mediocrity without fear of media criticism of any kind.

Villa call in agents to help shift dead wood
Published 22:57 24/08/11 By James Nursey

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish has stepped up his efforts to raise transfer funds - by hiring agents to move on the club’s unwanted squad men.

Villa owner Randy Lerner insists McLeish must sell to buy, so they can reduce the club’s £80million wage bill.

But there have been no firm takers yet for Jean Makoun, Luke Young, Habib Beye, Carlos Cuellar and Shane Lowry.

Villla are now even considering giving £40,000-a-week defender Beye a free transfer just to be rid of him.
Meanwhile, McLeish has given a mandate to try to offload players before the window closes to several agents, in the hope they can free up money for him to spend on new faces.

Big Eck likes Tottenham and Scotland right-back Alan Hutton and West Ham's England midfielder Scott Parker.

This would be the Luke Young who has started our first 2 games? Cuellar, Beye maybe, Eck has stated Makoun is not going unless a replacement comes too. So all in all a load of twollocks.

Well that is absolute garbage, and a free transfer for Beye is no good as I imagine if we'd had any interest we would have told clubs he's available for nothing.

So Spurs taking Parker and Adebayor. The former is a good signing. Adebayor is a gamble, but a good player if they get him firing. He will play with Van Der Vaart behind though, and I reckon Pavlychenko and Crouch will be after a move now.
