With predictable enivitability Parker will end up at Spurs once Modric is sold I would think.

An I'd take both of them on loan. Joe cole could still prove useful. Be an interestig season... Has he still got something left? Has he gone past it? Signing him on a four year contract would be a gamble. Take him on loan for the season and see how he performs.

Anelka is a great player and would take him too.

I've often though it isn't transfer fees that is stopping us make more signings, rather it is wages.  I think we have enough money to buy a player for £20m but we wont be willing to pay him £80k - £90k a week.  With this in mind, I can't see us going for players like Joe Cole or Anelka which is a shame.

Can't see how anelka would fit in and as he's getting on a bit what would we get from him that the likes of Bent, Gabby and N'Zogbia don't provide?  We'd be much better off using whtever his loan would cost on central midfield.

Joe Cole I'm unsure about, but again with N'Zog , Ireland, Bannan and Marc his is a position we're sort of OK in, so why not focus whatever cash is available on a more problematic area?

Anelka is superb. Absolutely no chance whatsoever.

Joe Cole is shit.

If and its a big if,Cole could stay fit,he'd bring a lot to the team, especially with the euros coming at the end of the season. Wages would be a big problem though, unless Liverpool pay half.

Sorry, but Anelka, even at his age, would offer a LOT more than either heskey or gabby out wide. He's a much better player. I'm inclined to agree with you on Cole though.

With all due respect, what the fuck would Martin Laursen know about who McLeish wants to sign?

I'd take either of them. not a fan of loan deals at all but needs must, though i'm not sure how cole would fit in. presumably replacing allbrighton/heskey.gabby?
