If we sign Hitz it's a clear sign that the mediocrity of the Ellis years are back, and it could be that Lerner is clearing the debts to sell. He tried but after the oil Arabs bought City the writing was on the wall. Maybe just maybe AM does have money to spend but is waiting for the end of period bargains, what i do know is that without a couple more good players and Hitz certainly isn't that we are going to have our work cut out to stay up.

If Cuellar goes, and I wish he'd just do it now instead of pissing us about

What makes you think he's 'pissing us about'?

Is there not another, younger version of Shola knocking about.

Seems we are interested in bringing Tommy Hitz back then, just not until a wage has gone. He would be a good signing in our current situation.

It would be great to have Der Hammer back. Just along as he plays the "kick 'em up in the air" and "shoot on sight" role that he had when he first got into the team. It all went down hill when he started to actually play football.

I don't think cuellar is pissing us about, just looking after his own interests- according to mccoist they were miles apart on personal terms and it seems rangers aren't able to get near matching his villa wage- he may be best to see the season out and if he doesn't impress here then he could go back to Spain on  free .

Rangers want him, we've accepted a bid, he seems to want to move on yet he's still here.

Just because we accepted a bid, it dose'nt mean he has to move. 'Pissing us about' is a bit harsh to be honest.

But by looking after his own interests he's pissing us about. It's his prerogative of course but I wish he'd just go now and let us get on with it.

Why would Rangers want to pay his wages for 6 weeks while he is injured?

Unless his injury is holding things up. Maybe Rangers want him to recover a little more before they can conduct  a proper medical.

Agree with you clampy, why should Carlos take a huge drop in wages when he's quite within his rights to see out his contract, he hasn't asked for a move.

McCoist has already said the injury is not the problem- it's the huge difference in personal terms and he stressed huge- I'd be happy to see cuellar stay as I think given a run in the team he may hold his place. I accept what chris says in that we need a decision on his future quickly though ,I'm not sure if rangers offer is still on the table as I think they've since looked elsewhere.

Aston Villa join the race to sign French striker Trezeguet

By Sportsmail Reporter

Aston Villa have expressed interest in David Trezeguet.

The former Juventus striker, 33, is a free agent after leaving Hercules and has been linked with Swansea.

The Frenchman’s agent, Antonio Caliendo, claims Villa made an approach two weeks ago and talks are ongoing, but Napoli, Nice and Terek Grozny are also keen.

Trezeguet is chasing a two year contract and is understood to want £28,000 a week after tax.

!!!

thought he was older than 33. I'm guessing 28k a week after tax is quite a big wage......

I'd honestly rather not bother and play one of the youngsters instead.
He'd better not play instead of Gardner for instance.

Exactly

Although I liked Hitz if you look up one trick pony in the dictionary there is a picture of him

Trezeguet? (Which as we all know is French for three times as gay) Well there's one out of left field. I cant believe he's a free agent.

Which Johnson are you talking about and where did you read that Phil?
Adam, I hope.
