Defender Matthew Upson signs a two-year contract with Stoke.

Does that end their interest in Scott Dann then?

I would have thought so as they signed Woodgate as well.........Dann from what I hear is struggling with this injury

Villa linked with Bendtner.

Stoke linked with Palacios, a player who we could do with.

I think he may end up as a January bargain.

A nailed on cert for Villa then. Don't we normally buy injured players.

Who the hell is linking us with Bendtner? We're skinto, we're hardly going to be splashing out for someone like him, in a position where we do have a reasonable amount of depth!

Aye. Very poor show. If you're gonna come up with a rumour, at least make it vaguely believable

Be a good move for Herd - I think he, Lowry & Hogg are all canidates for loans elsewhere.

Totally disagree

At 22 he should be good enough to play for us in the PL not going out on loan.

If you can cut in in the Prem you should be able to do it before you are 22

sell him then ..
And do you think he'd command a higher transfer fee having come straight from our reserve team or having played a season of high level Championship football?

I couldnt really give a toss

Would he play a full season at a fizzy pop team? It could go the other way, could be mediocre at a mid table fizzy pop team and his value goes down. Or after a few Villa cameos his stock remains higher. Swings and roundabouts. Do you think the Fonz increased in value after Burnley? Or Bannan at Leeds?

We aren't talking millions lets be honest.

These lads at 21/22 need to be playing for us and being good enough for the PL or sold.

Can't see us signing anyone else unless it's a Parker/Barton on loan right at the end of the window.

I'd like Bendtner though.

What about Jimmy Bullard for a year or two if he accepted a cut in his £50k wages to say £40k.  He seems quite injury prone these days but would not really cost anythging and is in the Barton/ Parker mould sort of.  Hull are keen to shift him due to his high wages.

Jimmy Bullard? I think I'd rather re-sign Eric Djemba-Djemba than this clown.

Herd / Hogg / Lowry - if they're not good enough to fight for a starting position, get 'em out on loan with a view to a sale (the loan offsets their wages and puts 'em in the shop-window). If McGinge thinks they're good enough, then give them some game-time. But don't do neither!
Bendtner - I thought he'd signed for a club in Europe somewhere, about 3 weeeks' ago.
Bullard - on a pay per game basis, he could be interesting - otherwise, <£20k per week or forget. However, we've already got Warnock and Ireland: does McGinge need another personality-challenge?

I rate Palacios. Surprised he's not established himself at Spurs but I suppose they do have 47 central midfielders.
