Talking of loans (from the BBC):

Tottenham defender Kyle Walker at England press conference: "To play for England you need to be playing regularly so another loan is possible. I want to play at Premier League level. I went to Villa and I did ok but there is still more to come from me."

Quick, get him before anyone else notices...
Just heard him on SSN.He's made it clear he wants to play first team football. He's obviously not convinced he's going to be a nailed on starter.Missing us I reckon ;)

Hooray! We can have our very own, on-loan, Glen Johnson!

I'd have a few doubts about Walker, purely from a defensive point of view.

But I think he has so much in his favour that those kinks can be ironed out. And it's not as if he's a nightmare defensively.

No more loans just to help the likes of Tottingham out though.  Straight permanent move (they need cash and might go for an offer of circa £6/7 mill with add ons) or a loan with a view to a permanent deal.

Harry seemed pretty adamant that Walker was going nowhere at the end of last season....or was he just talking up the cost...?

He just signed a long contract extension. He won't be leaving on a permanent deal.

Walker's recently signed a five year contract and he's likely to start for England on Wednesday. Let it go. Walker's not going anywhere anytime soon.

I think the reason people aren't "letting it go" is because he said he might go on loan himself today.

I agree, there's no chance of a permanent deal but would happily have him for a season.

Walker was just a lost opportunity. He did enough for us to make sure redknapp isn't going to sell him unless he's offered big money. Don't particularly want to raise his transfer fee even more or get him ready to slot into spurs defence in a years time. It wasnt so long ago we were spur's rivals, not their nursery club...

I don't care what message it sends. I think Walker would improve our team so I'd happily take him.

fine if we've given up ever challenging for the top 4. It thats not the case, all we'll doing is training up someone else's young player when we could be doing it for our own

I like Kyle, alot. But I'm with Greg on this one. He's a good prospect and offers alot going forward but what's the point? I'd rather rotate Lichaj and Luke.

Comments (0) Add to My Stories Share Aston Villa and Fulham are preparing to offer Ghana defender Samuel Inkoom a route out of his Ukrainian hell.

The right back, 22, has been the subject of racial abuse since joining Dnipro from Swiss club Basel in January and even had his house burgled.

Scouts from Villa and Fulham will run the rule over Inkoom when Ghana face Nigeria at Vicarage Road tonight

LEEDS United manager Simon Grayson reportedly wants to sign Australian utility Chris Herd on a season-long loan from Premier League club Aston Villa.

The 22-year-old, who can play at full-back or midfield, made seven appearances in all competitions for the Villans last term under Gerard Houllier.
It is understood new Villa boss Alex McLeish wants to keep Herd for the new campaign which the Birmingham club begin on Saturday at Fulham.
However, according to Mirror Football, Grayson is keen on Herd and will push hard to secure his services after Leeds started the Championship season with a disappointing 3-1 loss at Southampton.
It is reported that Leeds will pay Herd's wages in full for the whole season.
Portsmouth previously made a bid for the Perth-born utility in pre-season but Villa turned down their interest.

He didn't get much of a run in pre-season though, guess we are just keeping him here for cover.

Be a good move for Herd - I think he, Lowry & Hogg are all canidates for loans elsewhere.

I would'nt hesitate to get Walker in, purely as a winger though, he's as much a right back as what I am.

Agree with that

The same with Glen Johnson
