Nottingham Forest agree an undisclosed fee with ADO Den Haag for 24-year-old winger Wesley Verhoek, reports the club's official website.

ETA of first "can't compete with Forest" statements - 30 mins

That long................lol

Ah, that takes me back to earlier in the summer, when we thought Steve McClaren was the epitome of our managerial nightmare scenario...

Whatever Forest are paying, bet it's not much. Not in salary terms, either.

I think that both Sven and Schteve will prove a lot of shallow minds wrong this season; both will have very successful teams I suspect.

He was a decent manager, but has become a comedy figure in the last few years. That's why he's been at Notts County and Leicester.

city will not let adam johnson go on loan in a million years, thet need a 25 man strong squad with a huge season ahead-the likes of bellamy and onouha will perhaps be available on loan but no way will milner or aj be going.

Everton line up Johnson loan move

Bruce encouraged by City reaction to Johnson move

A winger that can't cross is pointless. The one time SWP did make an impact was the 1st time at Citeh when he was being played in a floating role when he was more likely to be on the end of the cross rather than crossing it. He can go past players but if the final ball doesn't actually reach your forwards then what's the point?

gabby agbonlahor and emile heskey as above.

So rather than play one of the two players we have who aren't very good on the wing we sign another player who isn't very good on the wing?

i think he will on to become a leicester legend and establish them in the premiership.
granted county was a mistake but he was badly lied to by the owners.

Man City refuse to loan Adam Johnson
News | admin |
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When asked if he would allow Johnson to leave City, Mancini replied: “No.”

Any hope which Everton may have had of bringing Adam Johnson to Goodison Park look to be over.

Press reports earlier today had linked Everton with a loan move for the Manchester City winger but Roberto Mancini insists Adam Johnson will not be allowed to leave the club.

“Adam Johnson, sure 100%,” replied Mancini when asked if the winger are important to the City first team.

Anyone betting after a season we will be biddign 8-10 million to get Verhoek from Forest? Why we don't go in for him now if genuinely interested is beyond me, his wages are clearly not going to be bank breaking.

Question is, is he really that good?  If so, why isnt no other prem club going in for him?  Also, Eck has made it clear that we will not be adding anymore new faces so why do people continue to go on about who we should sign this season?

I guess Verhoek isn't that well known outside Holland - McClaren probably knows a lot about him from his Twente days/daysch.

Wonder what Numan thinks of Verhoek?

I've never seen him play, but he wouldn't have to be a world beater to be better than Heskey or Gabby on the wing.

Unbelievable that we  can not compete with even clubs like Forest.
(sorry for the delay!)

Even old HDE would  give those 2 a close run for their position on the wing, and hed scissor kick his crosses over too.
