Think Mcleish will stick with the 4-4-1-1 he used against Walsall.

How was the formation against Warsaw 4-4-1-1?
I'd say 4-3-3 myself.

Albrighton has the same problem that Gabby has, in Gabbys first season he was an unknown quantity to the opposition so he was marked closely and could use his speed, then defenders started to stay a few metres of him and he lost the advantage. Thought the end of last season showed that Marc needs more in his locker to make a top prem player.

Started as a 4-4-1-1 and formed into a 4-3-3 when Heskey and Albrighton got up the pitch. Started with Albrighton on the right, Heskey on the left and Makoun and Petrov in the middle, with Ireland behind Bent ...........

Thought the tactical formation was very effective (i Know it was only Walsall) but whatever he plays it will be better with Nzogbia in the team ........

642 pages so far. 2 best players sold. 10+ released. A least 2 spongers still on books eg Beye & Heskey. 1 mediocre keeper signed. Reverse gear. Relegation scrap ahoy.

The difference between the formations, other than 442, is really about the players you have.  They all have a flat back 4 and that one central striker, but after that whether it's 451, 4231, 433 or 4411 depends on the personnel deployed.  If we have Gabby and the Fonz alongside Bent, then it's 433, no matter what the instruction from the manager is, by the nature of where they'll naturally play.

Had you ever even heard of Arsenio Halfhuid, Durrell Berry, Ellis Deeney and Calum Flanagan before they became part of this "Ten players released, the sky's falling in" idiocy?

Come on, everyone knows that if we'd kept those players and the likes of Pires and NRC we'd be talking about being title contenders.

Just accept it Dave, the title dream left with them.

I wouldnt say Albrighton is anything like Gabby, Gabby was found out because he only has speed and no brain.
Albrighton has far more about him he has a few tricks, speed, finishing he used to be a striker, and he can really cross a good ball. so i wouldnt worry about him being found out but he will have dips in the season like every player

Possibly.

But I think confidence plays a big part too.

Albrighton started the season like a house on fire but then lost his place to Downing. When he came back towards the end of the season he looked a different player -even his delivery was off. Although in fairness, he was much better v Liverpool at home.

It takes a special talent to cross consistently with the stupidly light balls now.  Albrighton can do it.  He is a reasonable dribbler and has pace, I'm sure he has a few tricks that he hasn't whacked out on the field yet.  All you really need in your books with his pace is dropping the shoulder and a step over, or close control speed changes.

Is he two footed? Just having the ability to cross with both feet is a pretty good trick as it means the defender cannot encourage you onto your weaker foot.

Different position but Southgate was an excellent example of this. He always looked like he had time because he didn't have to drag the ball onto his weaker foot. Ehiogu on the other hand...
