As I agree with everyone's standpoint about the N'Zog fee, like that bloke in the Fast Show, can I suggest £9.5m?

Exactly.
Surely that will be the outcome.

As an aside, Blackburn are trying to get Junior Hoilett to sign a new contract, be nice if we could swoop but it's never going to happen.

Oh yes, very good player. Shame it's only the one if true.

That's what pisses me off if it's true about 'just one player'
How can you possibly be that inflexible when an opportunity might come along for a quality player?

Hoilett would fit nicely in our set up.

How much would Hoilett cost?  Didn't kendrick tweet about it being 1 major signing and maybe a couple of smaller deals?

I think he would be approaching N'Zogbia territory in price John, he's young and very, very highly rated.

Don't see why we couldn't make a cheeky cheap bid to the chicken throttlers though.

I suspect if we are going back it's with the £10 million.

I agree, i cant see us offering £9.5 when DW clearly wants the full £10m.

It might be £9.5m plus the usual adds on over time eventually rising it to £10m. Wigan might also have slapped in a sell on clause, we really don't know, these deals are complicated.

Not sure I'd go as high as that for him myself, but certainly a better back up option to N'Zogbia than SWP!

No money for a couple of odd-bods?

maybe a couple of million to spend if carlos goes?  certainly dont expect it to be more than 2 million left for spending after nzogbia.

Where are these reports that we are going back with an increased bid anyway?

I think it's more the wages balance than transfer fee, so if Carlos and his £40k a week goes, I can see Randy releasing more of the Downing/Ash money for a replacement.

I don't believe McLiesh and I think we'll sign more than 1 player.

I think we're cutting back the wage bill and trying to reign spending in and I think part of that is being more coy in the transfer market.

Time will tell I guess.

I thought Carlos was on £55k a week, and Heskey on £65k, if we could shift these 2 it would help hugely I'm sure.  Beye on £40k out and another incomer may be possible too.  Same with central midfield if Petrov departs there would be room for a replacement but probably not if he stays.

I'd keep Petrov due to the lack of experience we have in his position.  I'd like him to be back up, say to Mulumbu now that Parker seems not to be happenning, but I'd still keep him at the club.

Absoulutely, but who is going to match those wages they are on now?  and we probably still want a fee for them as well
it would be silly money

If it's true, it would be just over £6m per year.

And why would it be true? I don't think there's ever been any suggestion that Cuellar is being paid that much.
