Easties, I dont know if there is a god. I dont know how to produce nuclear fusion. I dont know if lady gaga has gonads. I DO know that Whelan wants to sell N'Zogbia and so do as yet undiscovered tribes in the Andes.

Lets be honest we dont know the finer points of the offer but 10 million for Nzogbia is a fair price.

The quicker we pay, the quicker we get the player, the quicker he starts training, the quicker he settles in.

Bugger me it's not something Steven Hawking needs to work out

totally correct.

So if he signs in a day or two for £9m would you still argue that paying £10m today was the right thing to do?

We don't know how negitiations are going, all we have is what shit nespapers, internet sites and sports channels are pretending they know.

Yeah i would because Ive bought items in the past which have then gone on sale a few days later but I was still happy with my purchase because i had the money at the time, it was what i wanted and the price was reasonable.

That's a shit analogy.

A better one would be you go to an auction, make a bid and then when there are no other bids you offer more.

I saw it more as a buy it now price

Whelan is doing no different to what we did less than a week ago trying to get the best possible price for a player he is going to lose.

He has come out and said the price is 10 million and we have offered 9. If we  go back with 10 will he refuse? Wouldnt have thought so

yeah i was just typing my reply and then read what youve said and think pretty much the same if we do offer £10 and he then messes about fair enough but at least lets give it a go

No one else is interested so why should we let Whelan wipe his cock on our curtains again?

N'Zogbia the Zuffler has a better ring to it than Dave gets his Dick out (or Whelan gets his willy out).

Wigan owner Dave Whelan has already indicated N'Zogbia will be sold.

"We have to sell Charles N'Zogbia because he's on the last year of his contract," said Whelan.

"We can't keep him if a big club comes for him, and he does deserve a big club because he's that kind of quality player.

"We would love to keep him and pay him what he wants to stay with us but it's a very difficult situation. He's such a great player and we are such a small club sometimes we don't go together."

where does he say he wants to sell as you said earlier?
those quotes are older than todays quotes i posted above , he will sell at the asking price - simple , if we dont think hes worth it we dont pay it , and if we do think hes worth it we pay it.

N'Zogbia wont be signing another contract, why would he when he can leave to the club of his choice in 12 months with a big signing fee in his sky rocket, therefore Whelan HAS to get what he can now. He's basically said exactly that and its pretty obvious in any case.

He wants to sell so that he can get money from it. It is implied from what he is saying about him being on the last year of the contract. He knows there is no chance N'Zog will sign a new contract and that he needs money so they can buy more players. Hence, he wants to sell. He HAS to sell which is probably even stronger than wanting to sell.

His latest comments are just a negotiating tactic. Probably much like us pretending to be interested in other players.

like it or not maz and sandman the facts are that unless aston villa up the bid then they we will not get nzogbia!

make an offer of £10m and we will get him -if you dont like it dont pay it , but we will be the losers !

whats to stop nzogbia saying fuck this, villa are messing about so ill stay where i am and go somewhere else next season -he doesnt have to sign for villa and can hold out for everton or whoever on a free.

And how exactly does that benefit Wigan?

He wants to leave, they want to sell, we want to buy, no other club have bid; we're in a strong negotiating position.

I reckon if we stand firm we can get him for £9million. So that is almost certainly not a 'fact'. I'm not going to get all hysterical and wet my pants if we sign him for £10million though.

It's not like he is the only winger we could sign. There's nothing wrong with signing Vargas, Veerhoek or that Shakira bloke from Switzerland instead. We might get a better player for less money.

could be villa and wigan both lose out and he decides rather than go to villa to wait till his contract ends and maybe get a better offer from a bigger club !
