Lets be honest we dont know the finer points of the offer but 10 million for Nzogbia is a fair price.

The quicker we pay, the quicker we get the player, the quicker he starts training, the quicker he settles in.

Bugger me it's not something Steven Hawking needs to work out

totally correct.

£10 million for NZogbia v £20 million for Downing. Great business if and when it's done. Usual haggling over a million or two...no different to what went on with Downing and Liverpool really.

£8 million? nope,
£9 million? nope
£10 million and transfer request? go on then..

We're not going to alter our position on N'Zogbia because some internet pants pissers who are watching too much Sky Sports News are getting twitchy especially if Whelan is moving the goalposts price wise. The oaf has made clear he is desperate to sell and needs the money, the player is desperate to get out of the pie and bingo hall filled shithole and we are the only interested party. If you are buying a used car at auction and no one else is bidding you do not bid against yourself.

If Rent-a-gob Whelan wants to play hard-ball or move up the price as is rumoured then we should buy someone else (someone good so not SWP) and go back later in the window when Whelan is really desperate to sell. If we bid £10million now he will probably ask £11/£12million.

Yeah but sometimes if its something you really want and fits your requirements your happy to pay the rate without haggling. what were all worried about is that we have lost 2 wingers, a ready made replacement is available at half the price and by being silly we might end up with SWP

So if he signs in a day or two for £9m would you still argue that paying £10m today was the right thing to do?

We don't know how negotiations are going, all we have is what shit nespapers, internet sites and sports channels are pretending they know.

Agree, I like the fact that some posters trust the Mail.  Trust and Mail are two words in my experience should never go together.  I hope someone finds out there has been some shenannigans going on with that dirty filthy rag

Yeah i would because Ive bought items in the past which have then gone on sale a few days later but I was still happy with my purchase because i had the money at the time, it was what i wanted and the price was reasonable.

Yes and this point were not going to get him for £9m as has been stated i think id go as far as £12m if we were pushed but £10m seems reasonable

That's a shit analogy.

A better one would be you go to an auction, make a bid and then when there are no other bids you offer more.

Whelan may look like an aged, frail, kindly man but he is a businessman first and foremost so I wouldn't exactly take everything he says as fact. I've heard stories that he is really asking for £16million or £20million. I've heard other stories that he asked for £9million and then upped it to £10million when we bid £9million.

No one else is interested so why should we let Whelan wipe his cock on our curtains again?

I could be wrong about Whelan but a lot of people seem to think hes a knob, but he doesnt seem that bad to me surely hes just trying to do the best for Wigan and get as much money as he can just the same as any owner. Whatever happened with out approach for Martinez at least he came out to applaud the Villa in the way we conducted ourselves

I saw it more as a buy it now price

Whelan is doing no different to what we did less than a week ago trying to get the best possible price for a player he is going to lose.

He has come out and said the price is 10 million and we have offered 9. If we  go back with 10 will he refuse? Wouldnt have thought so
