Looks like Sven has been suckered by Hargreves and his Youtube clip

sportinglife.com

Leicester City boss Sven Goran Eriksson has revealed he is considering a move for former Manchester United midfielder Owen Hargreaves.

Hargreaves is available on a free transfer after being released by the Red Devils earlier this summer following a series of injuries which blighted his time at Old Trafford.

The 30-year-old has taken to YouTube to prove his fitness in a series of videos as he looks to find a new club.

Eriksson, who gave Hargreaves his England debut in 2001, has been impressed by the midfielder in the clips and is ready to add him to his Leicester revoultion.

"I saw his videos and if he wants to come here I will open the door and stand and wait for him in the door," said Eriksson.

"He's been very unlucky in recent years but if he's close to what he was he is a fantastic football player.

"I haven't spoken to him for a while, maybe I should.

"It's difficult to know what he wants to do when he's been away for a long time."

If financially it's a case of given and Parker or just foster I'd take the former option- always rated given highly when at toon and my only worry is his shoulder- much prefer given to Friedal .

There's bound to be loads of options and rigmarole going on in the next few days if the press are to be believed...a lot of this rumour, speculation and b*ll*cks might actually be going somewhere a bit more concrete after a fair few pages...

Be far too dangerous to be the one filming, you'd be liable to end up eating the Camcorder after Heskey takes one of his shots.

With Young going and Downing looking likely we will forced to play a different game anyway....as we will be doing under AM, anyway....so, with Albrighton we have pace, an out and out winger, but the option to create more through the middle with someone like Parker (and maybe Ireland? Delph? Makoun?). The loss of our two "wingers" should/could make us a better footballing side!!??  (kneels down and prays!)

Should we sign N'Zogbia it's noticable that he's much moe direct than our present wingers and likes to drive infield and get into the box as opposed to going on the outisde and getting a cross in, which is how Albrighton likes to play.  So by having those two either side we immediately have a variance in how we play.  We've already got a top class striker who can take advantage of either avenue, so were we to get a good attacking midfielder, and we may already have him in Delph or Ireland, then they can link with N'Zogbia/get the ball out to Marc and suddenly we'll have some very good attacking options.
I think I thought that's what I was thinking, pretty much...I'm just shit with the words!
Thank you for clarifying things for me John! Wonderfully reassuring to think that two Villa fans have the same sort of ideas!

Make that three!

Think I'd be genuinely pleased for him, and some of my old friends and neighbours in the wonderful county of Leicestershire (but the rough north west bit!)....they're truly gagging for him to return...the word "Messiah" has been spoken...

Scott Parker wouldn't just represent a very good player coming to Villa Park. He'd represent us having a proper captain and leader for the first time in a very long time. He'd not only be an inspiration to the younger players that Villa are hoping to groom, but it would be a real boost to us fans who will have seen how important he was to West Ham last season. He got injured for them at the worst possible time, and we ll know the rest. If you want energy and drive and a player that will get others playing and motivated, then Parker is as good as it gets, even if it might be 2 or 3 years.

When they were in financial trouble didn't Heskey make a donation to keep the wolves from the door?  During his Liverpool time I think.

I reckon he'd quite like the idea of ending his career there.

Given that it seems to be becoming the norm to sell players like Milner and Downing after a couple of years, I wouldn't worry about Parker's age.

According to TalkSport Shay Given hasn't gone with the rest of the team to the States for their pre season so he can complete the move with us.Worryingly Wayne Bridge hasn't gone either.

The events of the past three years are a bit of an anamoly when you look back through our history. Yes, like every other club we've sold very good players, but never in such quick succession. To call it the norm or even becoming the norm after three years as it relates to our entire history is a bit wide of the mark. No more so than what Arsenal are about to go through selling a lot of their very best best players in one summer.

All cyncism aside, I'm as tired of you at seeing our best players being sold. I want to see a period of stability and I'm not sure what it's going to take in football as a whole for every club to have a chance to keep a hold of their better players so there is more parity. One would hope that was a goal of FFP, but if Man City are allowed to just slap a new name on their stadium then it makes a mockery of the intent of the regulation. Otherwise, clubs like us, that sit somewhere in the middle will always remain in the middle. That's not good for the game, but then I'm guessing that the governing bodies stopped giving proper consideration about that a good while ago.
