I wouldn't take N'Gog, even though I don't think he's as bad as people say. Cole is a weird one. He's very, very talented, there's no way that can be just 'gone'. At his best, he's got double the talent of Downing.

It would depend on how much they would value Cole in any deal, if we got £16 million + Cole he'd be worth a punt at that price. Really I can only see him being interested in a move back down south, but if he's keen to get his place back in the England squad who knows.

Cole's a bit of a has been...great in his time, but that's probably been and gone. Simple reason for Ngog not being a regular for the scousers: not good enough!
Would still like to see N'Zogbia come our way, Milner would be a dream come true, and Dann from the scum would be my outfield choices for now. Keeper? Prefer Foster. Given okay. Anyone else tickle our fancy?

I like Roger Johnson as a defender but dann seems a bit overpriced, no doubt as a pair they were very effective.

Woodgate has turned down spurs pay as you play offer and left on a free but is hugely injury prone, i would like a new centre half if possible as dunne and Collins were woeful last season on occasions.

a bit predictable perhaps but I fully expected AM to go for Johnson, Dann and Foster. Too much bad blood due to AM's switch means any of those are highly unlikely. Stoke going for Dann with Jerome as bogof? Is our kitty so small we can't compete with Stoke? Just ramblin here folks!

Quite happy for Stoke to waste money on Jerome if they're mental enough TBH.

Dann would be a decent addition, but if the price is too excessive it becomes less of an attractive proposition and restricts our ability to strengthen other areas. And we do need strengthening.

When I mentioned Jerome as bogof that's exactly what I meant Kevin...scum simply reducing wage bill. If we can get Dunne, Collins and Warnock operating as they were 09/10, with Cuellar doing his bit, Clarkey as cover etc, we can use the dosh to strengthen the middle...I just have my doubts about Dunney and Carlos is not becoming injury prone, I hope.
Who would provide that strength in the middle given those realistically "available"?

Scott Parker would be an excellent signing for 3 years and would add a lot to our midfield, I suppose it depends how much we have to spend and that will decide the kind of players we go for, playmaker keeper centre half and wideman would be the 4 positions I'd be looking at , we may be ok at full back and if Ireland delivers all the better.

They seem to be doing a lot of pretty shrewd business...using up the readies we gave for DB or strong support from Board?

Typical Bruce-and I don't think this will turn out well. Seems unable to hang on to good players buys a whole mix of types and hopes they will work together. On past form-they won't.

Juan Pablo I am at work while you sleep my friend-haven't had a sat or sunday off for 11weeks but I do finish at 2pm and have 2 weekdays off, thanks for your concern-I try my hardest to avoid overtime but we are extremely busy and recruiting new staff to help with the workload- co-op national distribution centre is the place to be if anyone is looking for a job- some of us doing 16 hrs a day to keep up with the work and we are even having to bus people in from London depots.

Anyway on transfer matters Liverpool rumoured to be offering Joe cole or ngog as part of a deal for downing.

I sympathise Eastie , I know whats it like , I work every Saturday and Sunday , which makes it bloody hard to get down the VP.   My lad is 6 now  and starting to get into the football more , so Im hoping soon I will be able to get some one to cover some of my shifts and get down more often , even If we have the likes of Cole, Hargreaves and Woodgate in the team  ;-)
