One of the first questions AM would have asked Randy is how much do i have to spend. Can you see him taking the job unless he was assured he had a decent amount to spend. Where do they dream this rubbish up?

Today's press reporting mcleish in dispute with Lerner and Faulkner as they haven't sorted out his staff and that he is working on deals but has been told he has to sell players to raise cash to buy- also very unhappy Ashley young money was spent in advance on bent and only enough cash in pot for a keeper- even suggestions he may be close to walking out, though I can't see that .

Faulkner been away 2 weeks and everything put on hold- what a farce !

If all that is true then it doesn't surprise me one iota

Sounds like some pretty mischevious reporting in The Mirror there (shock), wouldn't worry about it.

Great. No money and the manager can't get players or even his staff in. If ever a season had relegation written all over it, its this one.

Nearly every season there is a team that have the stench of relegation hanging over them from day one due to the way they are being run - Portsmouth, West Ham etc. - I also can't help but feel that this is us at the moment.
This is a continuation of the press campaign against RAL.

The Mcleish story is a load of bull.

It probably is, Eastie just believes everything that paper prints.

now now clampy, just because i posted a press story doesnt mean i believe it-its something of debate .

as regards the paper , i hvent bought the mirror in over 25 yrs..,but have a free app to its sports news.

Well Eastie, if you don't believe it, then why did you put 'What a farce' at the end of your post about it?

what isnt without doubt is that paul faulkner as CEO is way out of his depth in his position. compare him to levy at spurs. The silence from the Villa board has been deafening all summer really and none of them has come out publicly to state that in fact AVFC are not downsizing, cutting costs, selling their best players and relieving itself of any hint of ambition etc etc. McLeish badly needs to get signings in and quickly or turnstiles at Villa Park will be hardly moving at all come August.

The thing is Hughton has told Blues that he wants to bring in Calderwood and his own staff, however they know if they pay up their contracts then Villa will appoint them, by putting them on gardening leave, they know that when Villa make a move they will get compo instead. Apparently talks are ongoing with Blues and until that is concluded we will have this impasse. The money thing I don't believe for a minute, although I keep reading Matt Kendrick said GK money was all we had, I read an article he wrote saying that RL had authorised £9m & £65k per week for Charles N'Zogbia. As for it being in Mirror Sport.

Albrighton is not in the Downing bracket yet, but he plays with heart and has feeling for the club so that makes him more valuable for me.

Needs to improve his tackling but then in comparison there's no comparison

in over 1500 minutes less last season, albrighton had 2 less goals but 3 more assists than downing...

Agree with the faulkner bit, I mean when do you see a new manager giving a press conference on his own?

Plus all that nonsense about a fan backlash against Steve Maclaren when in reality it was a few online polls

If we don't bloody well get our act together soon we will struggle so badly.

surely during faulkners 2 week honeymoon there must have been someone running things or is faulkner the be all and end all-if so other clubs have been signing players we may have been after , the cloak of secrecy at the top is very bad for public relations and i can see why the press get frustrated.

Thanks for that, makes me feel even better for when SD goes and we have 20million more in the kitty
