What possible reason could we have for signing him? My Nose mates reckon his only real pluses are his work rate and his strength. We've already got Gabby who can more than match that and is also quicker and scores more. McLeish isn't stupid and with funds rumoured to be limited he's surely not going to waste it on him to sit on the bench.

There's an element of trying to convince myself with the post but I can't honestly see it.

Anyway my point was, in relation to the manager we have, if the media know very little and need to make stuff up then they're hardly going to link us with top players, just more of what he's known for buying. Would we be linked with Jerome if Rafa was manager? I think not.

It would be pretty damn hard for any Manager not to win trophies in the 2 horse race they Call Scottish football.
Strachan won trophies up there. Two notable exceptions are Tony Mowbray and John Barnes.

If David O'Leary got a job at Celtic or Rangers, he'd win trophies.
Billy McNeil won trophies there and how fondly do we remember him?
