Nzogbia and Johnson would be brilliant maz.

I....I can't stop watching that! Quite brilliant.

Also, I agree entirely about N'Zogbia and/or Johnson, well worth buying if we can. I'd still be very tempted to try and get Bendtner in, too; I think he's got a degree of craft about him that would serve him well as a 'deep lying' forward, plus I think he'd score a fair few himself.

Of course, I'd rather throw the money for one of them towards getting Milner and make Albrighton first choice.
But that's hoping somewhat.

Johnson from man city would be a great signing but I can see him signing for one of the top 4 clubs to be honest , including Liverpool as well... for example he would do brilliant at Arsenal.

Thing is, though, Man City might prefer not to sell him to one of their 'Top Four' rivals.

Or Liverpool.

Just seen something on Sky Sports News about Hitzlsperger having to choose between us, Fulham and Blackburn. I think he'd be worth a punt on a free. Decent squad player if somewhat injury prone.

Hitz would do a job on A free !Much better now than when he left and he still has that shot on him which could add much needed goals from midfield.

Hitz has a great shot on him, and not a lot more. Still goes missing in games. Not for me.

If a player comes in who is going to keep one of the kids back in development, I'd rather they were better than Hitzlsperger. Therefore I dont see the point.

I wouldn't play him before Bannan, Gardner, Herd or Delph.
I prefer to remember his howitzers fondly but would be unhappy with the idea of him returning now.

my overriding memory was his impact as a sub, yet a feeling of gloom if he started.  I dont think we should be going out to buy players at a lesser standard than we have.  We have done this more than enough over the past 5 years

A big no to Hitz.
Hopeless in the tackle and doesn't dominate as a midfielder should.
Having him around might also slow the development of Gardner.

We're really in bargain basement territory if that's the calibre of signing we're after.

I'd sign him, because I rate him. Would be a great free signing.

Maybe great is not the word id use but decent enough on a free- a better player now than in his last spell at villa.

Am I mistaken or has Hitz played at left back recently? If so would be a useful squad player on a free. Cant be any worse than Beye

So has Downing actually put in his crayon-written transfer request then? Or did he pull out when challenged by our octogenarian doorman?
