If we do get £20M for Can'tackle Won'tackle  take  it straight to Eastlands and get Jimmy in car back to VP.

If that is true, and Barton is available for that cheap - I don't care how much of a twat he was/is - I want him signed. He'd improve our central midfield. N'Zogbia and Shawcross would be great signings too. Get to it, Eck!

SSN has said that the barcodes want four mill for Barton.  Still a decent fee and I reckon he might get back into the England fold, you know how much Capello loved the Villa!!

Joey Barton is not a good enough footballer to forgive him of his twattishness. And he is a good footballer.

I know the Jimmy Milner rumour is likely 99% bollocks, but if the club ever wanted a signing that would universally be approved by the fans and instantly lift morale this would be it. It would also put an end to our Team Captain 2011/2012 thread.

Shawcross is very similar to Jones and Cahill - would be great CD. And with Jones and Smalling looking to have the future Eng CB pairing sorted - less distraction. Would be a good signing.

Barton looked consistently v good for the Barcodes yet why would they want to sell him apart from being a difficult squad member?

Jimmy back solves alot of things.

Penalty taker, he is better than Bent.
Captain
Brings energy and commitment, especially after losing Ash's
Brings real balance to the team.

I think Randy would push the boat to get him, because he knows how influential he was and can be.

Fingers crossed.

I think we are living in dream land if we think Milner is coming back.

Firstly, though he isn't starting many matches at Man City, there are plenty of intermediate points between a Champions League club and a club which looks more Championship.

Secondly, we've appointed a cheap manager and, when trumpeting his arrival, one of the two or three qualities the club lauded was his belief in growing the club "sustainably". That doesn't mean spending 20m pounds on an international midfielder.

Barton 4m grab him. He is a twat but would do a good job in the middle.

Albrighton -Barton-Milner-Downing

Looks good to me ................

People seem to be leaving out Makoun a lot here, I think he will be an excellent player for us.

Ye think Makoun will be a good signing. He can be intergrated with the middle two. He will be good at threading balls through to Bent ......

I also think Makoun will show his quality next season. I think if we pair him with NRC (if we can get him back) or better and someone more attack minded (Bannan or Delph) and we have a great midfield three. He is a very good passer.

If we are determined to be ambitious I'd prefer us to add a few million to what we would pay for Milner and make an attempt to sign Sturridge and Walker. Two young players who could improve us a great deal. Maybe we could get both for £20million? Their clubs might not be willing to sell but I think it would be a better move than trying to get back Milner.

No to Barton, yes to Shawcross.

Though he does seem to be more in the mould of a Dunne or Collins. But if we're ditching either (or both of those) fair do's.

Would be quite happy with any two from Shawcross, Dann and the Bolton defender in our backline next year.
