I thought that McLeish was quite canny when he said he probably wouldn't get all of the Ashley Young money. It's true, he won't. We have to give a small piece of it to Watford!!

I wonder if David Bentley will come into the thinking to replace Young? I know he didn't set the world on fire at SHA but there is a good player in there somewhere.

I agree with this. We all know that he could be a great player. He must know that his career is going nowhere at the moment and should be busting a gut to get first team action. I'd certainly give him a chance as long as Spurs don't want to fleece us.

I think he's a lazy sit on the bench collect my wages and spunk it away type of player. Shame cus I used to like him at bburn. So much wasted potential. Remember the new Beckham?

His careers going nowhere for a reason. He walked out of the ground at a Blues game last season when he realised he was'nt on the bench. We can do better than get players who are happy to be earning.

Redknapp has described him as being one of the best trainers at the club, then again, he would say that if he's trying to get shot of him.

I think he's the type of not mind blowingly expensive, something to prove players we'll be shopping for under McLeish

I dont think AM wanted him at Blose , it was the chairman that got him ..

I can;t see Bentley being a target after his poor spell at Small Heath. I'd be much more inclined to take a risk on Joe Cole.

Wesley Verhoek should be heading to England unless the cunning Germans intercept his move.

The Holland Under-21 right winger is about to become the surprise Footballer of the Year in Holland. And his form for unsung Den Haag has seen a posse of Premier League scouts trailing him in recent weeks.

But the Premier League boys may yet be scooped by Champions League semi-finalists Schalke.

They are set to move for the 6ft 2in winger, who is physically one of the strongest players in Dutch football and has just one year remaining on his contract.

Verhoek is a great crosser of the ball and is the leading man in Dutch football for assists.
