We shouldn't be giving players away. £1.5m for a player of Cuellar's ability is outrageously low. I know he only has a year of his contract left but that's the sort of offer I'd expect from a club in January, if he has six months remaining and is totally out of the picture.

He hasn't been a regular for us - at least not at CB - but played a lot at RB when fit. He's only 29. I'd be looking for £4m this summer. And if a SPL club won't pay that, why sell to them? If Villa decide we need to sell him, I'm sure an EPL club would pay £4m for a defender of his quality.

Aston Villa manager Alex McLeish might beat Celtic to the signing of Kenyan midfielder Victor Wankyomama. (Daily Mail)

Wank yo mama, is that a wind up? ( serious question)

Rangers offered 1.5m for Cuellar. Cheeky fucks.

serious question here mate what value would you put on Cuellar ?

I think £2m mark would be a fair figure for someone who didnt feature much last term..

He cost us almost 8m. You want him back for 1.5m. That's ridiculous. He's easily worth around 5m right now (in realistic terms) - but I suspect he'll go for closer to 3m. Much worse defenders (and players in general) than him go for a lot more than 2m.

We quoted £3m. link.

He's out injured for the next 3 months, so £3m would not be too bad, should be at least £4m if he was fully fit though.

Well according to MM on the other site, NRC could be coming back but not much chance of C.Gardner. Dann too expensive and R.Johnson not much better than weve already got. According to questions asked McLeish at the fan-forum held. Apologies if already stated somewhere.

Worth going over to VT to have a read of what AM had to say at the forum - MM and DW both in attendance. Wasn't sure if it was the done thing to copy and paste it over to here?

Yeah thats why I didnt copy n paste tbh I thought maybe DW would post something on here himself to let everyone know. Didnt want to steal his thunder. Well worth the read. Mentions McLeish wanting to play attacking fullbacks, wingers and Gabby with Bent up front. Well worth the read. But its all over the web now so Im sure you have!

Foster said he was a Coventry fan when he joined man utd and his dad certainly is a sky blue as he gave an interview recently in the Coventry telegraph- pretty sure fozzie isn't a villa fan but I'd be happy if he joined us.

Cuellar should be in at centre half and a fee offered of £1.5m is a joke - rangers offered £300k for an international full back too, this is the real world not poundland and rangers clearly cannot compete if they are so poor.

Just what we need, another run of the mill midfielder.

Re Cuellar, depends how much contract is left, but if its only 1 year, i suppose £3m would be acceptable.

Any news on Bradley - is it true he's left the club?

He left at the end of the season and we've subsequently - according to media reports - declinined our option to buy him.

I was horrified the other day when the word on the street was that we have agreed a fee of £3.4m. This has cheered me up somewhat.

Dont know much about him but would take a countryman of his MacDonald Mariga. Same position sort of, aswell. Or Derek Boateng who we were linked to BEFORE the baggies. Better options out there than NRC who can pass aswell as tackle IMO.

Carlos Kickaball will cost a lot more than £1.5m or even £3m to replace, I'd rather keep hold of him. He's got his faults but his positioning is better than Collins, and he's not as exposed to pace as much as Dunne.

Yeah heard that but not same surname? brother in law? step brother?  brother from another, mother?

BTW since your here mate and guessing your a Scotland fan, what you reckon of our super Barry Banann? Got what it take to be your best midfielder in years to come in your opinion? Reason I ask is a lot of folk want Charlie Adam here with strong rumours he's on McLeish's radar but I dont think we need him as IMO Banann can go on to be a far superior player.

I actually think if McLeish can get Dunne back to consistent form he is prob the best tackler/stopper at the club. Pair him up with C.Clark who has more pace and comfortable on the ball and you could have a very good CB pairing there. Clark bringing out the ball from the back, Dunne making last ditch challenges and booting the ball away when under pressure could work very well. Wasnt it Dunne who tried persuade Clark to join ROI instead on England? Could help coach the kid into our future El Captain.
