That article says it throws Gordon's future into doubt. No McGregor. No Westwood. Bid for Gordon and Cuellar swap for Bougherra on the cards? Missing out on a few signings here. Hope McLeish isnt doing a MON and gonna faff about all summer. Hope the board realises to get the fans back onside were going to have to make some godamn signings!!

Give him a chance , he's only just got here, I wouldn't want Gordon as he's too injury prone - another Kirkland .

Foster would cost a bomb but green maybe would be available at about £4m or given at maybe £2m- I wouldn't throw £10m at foster but he is a decent keeper-much rather get Roger Johnson and a keeper for that sort of money.

I think Harry will start walker in the spurs side this year but Hutton may be worth a shout- It looks like warnock and Ireland will be given a clean slate so let's hope they deliver!
Has Bradley gone then?

Right so you wouldnt want Gordon as he too injury prone. Well Green has been proven to be error prone ! I would take Hutton though.

I think Gordon is still injured and out for a few months yet ? Of the options I'd take given but only if his shoulder problem is cured- cudicini at spurs maybe as he's now 3rd choice and was very good at Chelsea before cech arrived.

I think Nzogbia is likely to be the first one in.

Well according to MM on the other site, NRC could be coming back but not much chance of C.Gardner. Dann too expensive and R.Johnson not much better than weve already got. According to questions asked McLeish at the fan-forum held. Apologies if already stated somewhere.

Where was the fans forum held - will it be broadcast anywhere?

Nzogbia would be a useful signing and I'd be happy to see Nigel back in the fold- reports tonight that ash was having a medical at carrington today and is set for man utd maybe tomorrow.

I think we should go for experience for our goalie. Freidel served us well for the money we paid for him so Given would be my choice. Westwood would be too much of a risk and while i've not seen hardly anything of Mcgregor, i'd be happier with someone who's been around in the Prem for a bit.

I dont know the details just scouring the web for everything Villa-related tbh. MM mentioned Dave Woodhall was there so hoping he will write an article soon for us all! All sounds positive though.

Westwood/Larsson signing for Sunderland today apparently

We need a top quality goalie as they can get you 9/10 pts a season and we should be looking to spend £8/£9m at least

Westwood would have been low risk as he's on a free and I was looking at him as one of 2 keepers challenging for the position, if we sign given as I agree he would be a class keeper but id rather have a better back up option than guzan who I just don't think is good enough personally.

I'd like Foster, but we'll have to pay through the nose, and he's still prone to dropping the odd bollock. Other cheaper options we could pull off would be Green, Given or Robinson. I would shit myself having Green in goal. He looks top class when he's on it, but he makes too many errors. I'd be very happy with Given or Robbo. Given has been one of the most consistent keepers in the Prem. Very, very unfortunate not to have played last season. He was superb for City previously, not to mention always a rock at Newcastle. He may not come off his line at set pieces, but if we get a good centreback pairing and organise them right, that won't matter (see Friedel 09-10). There are few better shot stoppers around either. Robinson likewise has been superb for Blackburn.

There's lots of decent options around, so if McLeish gets this one wrong, he's asking for trouble.

As for N'Zogbia, he'd be a good signing. My concern would be that his move would revolve around Downing. If Stewie signs for Liverpool then I'd fancy us to sign him. If Downing stays, I think Liverpool will look at N'Zogbia.

Even if Downing stays, it might be worth signing N'Zogbia anyway, because i can't see Downing signing another contract and we might as well have his replacement ready for when he does go.

It may be that mcleish decides not to play with 2 wide men and may decide to strengthen the central area with an extra man , either way I think there will be some interesting deals done in the coming weeks.

I'd be surprised if we had nzogbia , downing and Marc all in the starting squad but if downing does go then we should look at least for £20m same as Henderson cost them.

I'd rather we had both. But I reckon he's Liverpools back up option to Downing, and if given the choice between ourselves or Liverpool, I think N'Zogbia will be wearing a red shirt.
