Beye isn't good enough but it would be interesting to see if Warnock and Ireland were up for it next season as that is two positions we would need to fill with players of their nature.

Yes, I'd expect nothing else but for a new manager to give everybody a level playing field but the rotters are still just that and they'll most likely be fucked off ricky tick.
I'd love to think there's an avenue back for Ireland to regain his form of two years ago but I doubt he has the mental strength or hunger for it.

Me neither. Ireland seems to have settled along the route of making excuses and seeking out a club to indulge him - City, us and now Newcastle have all passed on him. He needs to knuckle down and earn playing time; I'm not sure he'll do that.

Beye's just awful. McLeish will spot that in his training session.

Warnock maybe, but if we keep the mentalist at the expense of give Delph his head I'd be very disappointed.

I think you're right.
It seems it's not so much about their ability, but more about being mardy arses in and around the training ground.
I would imagine Fucking Eck will soon jettison them when he sees that they have faces like smacked arses.

I'll bet Beye, Warnock and Irelands agents were banging on his door the minute he was appointed.

We should try Ireland again until Christmas, if the guy still can't see at that stage that his career is heading down the toilet, well then he will have to be gotten rid of. 8m of a write off is a lot of money. No one is going to pay any huge money for him as he is.
If Horatio has a word with him in the next few weeks and Ireland states that he wants out, he should be told that he needs to play himself into a credible move by knuckling down and showing some commitment to his career to attract a good club for him. Alas, I don't think he has the mental capacity to think like that, and will try to take the easy way out, the poor little munchkin doesn't like pressure.

It's good news that he is giving all these players a clean slate. Out of the 3 mentioned, if just 1 turns out to be a good player for us next season it will be worth it. I also wouldnt right off any of them yet.

Meanwhile, I got emailed this story about us making an eleventh hour bid for Kevin Nolan.

Would have been a great signing IMO and I still dont understand how he has ended up at West Ham. Seems strange that we could have made a move for him with no manager though.

I don't think McLeish will be giving Ireland until Christmas; I think he'll have made some firm decisions halfway through July. The trio we're talking about need to hit the ground running in pre-season, busting a gut to impress the new manager and get back into first team plans. Can see Warnock maybe doing that, not the other two.

PS Nolan - yes, always rated him. West Ham have got a bargain there, he should be playing Prem Lge football.

The Sunday Mirror had that story also.  If true then I'm guessing Horatio (yeah - I'm on boatd with calling him that) picked up the phone Friday or Saturday to ask the question.

As it goes, I don't overly rate him so ain't all that bothered!

What's Heskey's future?  I guess we will tend to go 1 up top so with Bent, Gabby, Nathan and Weimann will we need Heskey or a Heskey replacement or do we have enough up top?

the reason that he has gone there is that he is 29 and they have given him a 5 year deal. We would never have done that and lets hope he is a succesful and as much value for money as Keiron Dyer! West Ham Mugs!

I think we have enough.

We know what Bent & Gabby can do so we need to get the Fonz playing and if he doesn;t cut it then sell him.

I agree 5 years is mental but mebbe staying in the premier league with the chance of winning something other than a Championship winners medal would have tempted him. Or perhaps not.
