Otherwise I reckon:
N'zogbia
Palacios
Kranjkar
Dempsey

Those are good to average, the rest no thanks

I'd only take Dempsey and N'Zogbia from that list. Think our defensive midfield option needs to be better than Palacios.

I reckon we'll spend about 40. Mcleish likely to be after a few blues players: ...Gardner. Not sure they'll sell to us easily.

Otherwise I reckon:
Darron Gibson
Konchesky
Jenas

If we sign Robbie keane I'll do my nut
I don't think I have that much nuts to crack.

On the basis that we do get McLeish as manager, I can see a double swoop for Foster and Danns.  Both good players, but there'll be uproar as we'll pay through the nose (snigger) for them.  N'Zogbia also and I doubt Downing will stay now.  That leaves the fullbacks and a midfield enforcer to find, but I reckon we'll be lining up something like this is a 4-5-1:-

Foster

New RB (hopefully Walker)
Collins
Dann
New LB

Albrighton
Makoun
New DCM
Delph
N'Zogbia

Bent

I'd like:

Foster

Walker - Cuellar - Johnson - L.Young

Delph - Palacios - Makoun

Downing - Bent - N'Zogbia

That's 4 new players in (5 if you count Walker). Looks really good. Very athletic and talented team.

I doubt we'd get all those players, but if we could get N'Zogbia, Johnson and Walker that'd be good.

If Downing and Young go we will need 2 wingers bought in, N'Zogbia and 1 other, maybe Jarvis.  We couldn't rely on 2 for the whole season, would need a minimum 3.  I'd rather Dann than Johnson, Dann and Cuellar would be a good partnership imo.  Would like to see L Young back at right back and Warnock on the left.

Surprised to see Nolan apparently having a medical at West Ham.  Thought he could have stayed in the PL with someone, but I suppose he wants to play under Fat Sam (lord knows why).

Forget about Warnock, he wants out no matter who the manager is, plus he's absolute gash.

A suggestion for a defensive midfielder - Angelo Palombo?
Mainly suggesting as he is a top class player on FM
I must admit, I havent seen much of Sampdoria this season (they were relegated I think), but whenever I have seen him in the past I have been impressed. He is the captain. Looks solid, takes a good free kick, good passer, all round perfect centre mid player.

Perhaps some of our overseas fans have a better idea of him?

Thing is, John, I want us to sign both those players but I think appointing McLeish lessens our chances of getting them. Blues will do anything not to sell those players to us after we've 'stolen' their manager and I can see them accepting a lower bid from someone else just to spite us.

Or our double agents will all return  ::)

We will need to replace however many wingers leave, because we can't afford to rely on Super Marc for 38 games next year, he still isn't ready imho.

Well judging on the impending appointment, we'll probably spend about £3million net and that's very little to go along way.
