Monaco about to be relegated from French league, they got any decent players?
Teams with decent players don't get relegated.

Aston Villa, Fulham and Everton are ready to test Leicester’s resolve to hang on to Ivory Coast defender Sol Bamba.

The 26-year-old former Hibernian stopper, who has a year left on his contract at the Walkers Stadium, has been watched by all three clubs, as well as Marseille and Paris St Germain. He would cost around £2million

I hope we don't bother, he scores the odd goal. He's not a particularly good defender though.

Indeed. He tended to look pretty poor even in the SPL.

Being rumoured today, emphasis rumour, Sunday Express, that Bent is considering his future at Villa if Young and Downing are sold, he apparently has been making noises to friends and on the net that Villa have no ambition.

Also a report in the Express about Lerner to make a decision on Houlliers health report today!!!!.

Bents only been here long enough to go to the toilet for a number 2 and have a quick shave.
No offence but what a load of bollocks!

What exactly, here's the link, http://www.express.co.uk/posts/view/249509/Top-clubs-battle-for-Belgian-best-

 Or your impression of it.

4 Year contract or not, the right money comes in for Bent and he'd dump on Villa from a great height IMO. As Sunderland found out earlier in the season, when he doesn't want to be somewhere he goes on a sabbatical, what would concern me is the fact that if there is any truth in this report he's already making noises after just half a season at Villa.

11 Goals in 23 Games is hardly a sabbatical

Bent would have known Young was likely to go. Downing will stay unless we are offered silly money, and both will be replaced. If he wanted away after the fee would have doubled.

Oh  yes Ash Young. Had a couple of good seasons with Aston Villa when  he was "unknown" but than got found out by the opposition and later on by the Referees. Since than he  has not been able to make much of an impact through his footballing skills and has resorted to "me me  prima donna type  character" on the pitch  attracting maximum attention and exerting minimum influence on the game.

Recently his head has been turned by his Agent offering him the bounty of a squad player possibly for a CL club and he is now in up there with his head in cloud 9 waiting for it. He is in for a shock however if he does move on as at best he will be a spare ***** at a wedding but he will have a restful season next year sitting on a bench or some comfy seats  watching most of the games.

Today's question:

What do Roy Keane, Fabrizio Ravenelli, Juninho, Scott Parker, Andrei Kanchelskis, Mark Viduka, Joe Cole, Stuart Pearce, Michael Owen and Peter Beardsley all have in common?

I'd be excited by sturridge, though I'd also quite like us to play 433 next year.

By the end of this week we may have lost friedel, walker, NRC and young from this season's first 11. With the sell on clause for Watford we'd be getting roughly £13m or so in won't we?

We definitely need to replace all of the above plus a proper left back and sub keeper. Ideally I'd like a new fwd and centre back too. But I just can't see all of this  happening. And I'm not feeling too confident about our kids stepping into the breach. I have a feeling albrighton is going to go through one of those spells young wingers often do where he'll need to adapt his game to avoid being too predictable, but he'll be back.  I think delph is in for a good year, but he won't offer us the same as NRC so I think we'll need a more defensive minded midfielder. High hopes for Clark but I'd toughen him up in the championship for a few months first.
