Personally i would'nt sign Carrick, but he was Ures best midfielder yday.Park and Giggs were completely anonymous.

Carrick has a good pass on him, but i'm not one to buying players from teams like Ure, you have to ask if they are leaving for the right reasons.

Macca was a one off i think.

I must say I didn't notice that Park was playing. Rooney played well, the rest of them were spectators.

Carrick is average. As is most of the Man Utd team save for Rooney and Vidic. The rest are just plain hard-working.

What makes Man Utd successful is their whole philosophy, their work ethic, their willingness to take instruction. Put any of their players (save for the two I mentioned earlier) in any other team and they'll be ok but probably not the sort of player you'd associate with Champions League Finals. And the driving force behind it all is that purple fella in charge.

Put O'Neill, for example, in charge of Man Utd with the same players and their CL finals days are finished.

Poring over old videos, if you want a perfect example of players who are good but not exactly world-beaters who actually DID go on to beat the world, you only need to look in your own backyard.

Motivation. Work rate. The ability to play to a plan. Never-say-die attitude.
Those four things will overcome just about anything and allow you to beat just about anyone.

Carrick is average. But he's a cog that fits nicely into Sir Alex's machine to keep it ticking over.

Ferdinand isn't average, Giggs isn't average, Evra isn't average, Hernandez isn't average, Van Der Sar isn't average. They were outclassed last night by the best club side I've ever seen but they're still a team full of very good players.

I think all those are average currently, Giggs didnt used to be and hernandez may prove not to be, but apart from Rooney and Vidic they are all average. I still find it hard to believe Man ure won the Title with such a poor side just goes to show how average the premier league is despite Sky telling us its the best in the world!

Or how good Fergie is.

Do you think AC Milan, Borussia Dortmund or Lille would have fared any better? This Barca team is the best I've ever seen, even better than early 90s Milan I reckon.

People who say Man United are average sound very bitter, they have just won the most competitive league in the world and won 18 of there 19 home games. They have two players who scored over 20 goals and would have had 3 if Rooney had been 100% all season.

Being rumoured today, emphasis rumour, Sunday Express, that Bent is considering his future at Villa if Young and Downing are sold, he apparently has been making noises to friends and on the net that Villa have no ambition.

Also a report in the Express about Lerner to make a decision on Houlliers health report today!!!!.

Bents only been here long enough to go to the toilet for a number 2 and have a quick shave.

Bent signed a four year deal. He's going nowhere.

If Man City came in with a £40m+ bid and offered to double his wages he is gone.....................

£50 million or fuck off. Ideally, even then I wouldn't want to sell him.

A rumour lifted from some faux ITK knobhead called Smetrov on Villtalk.

Ah come on, are you for real? We may as well just give up if that were true.
