Michael "White Pelé" Carrick was brilliant today wasn't he holtepaul? We should definitely sell Villa Park and use the proceeds to make a £90 million bid for him. He could be the new Djemba-Djemba.

Carrick is average. As is most of the Man Utd team save for Rooney and Vidic. The rest are just plain hard-working.

What makes Man Utd successful is their whole philosophy, their work ethic, their willingness to take instruction. Put any of their players (save for the two I mentioned earlier) in any other team and they'll be ok but probably not the sort of player you'd associate with Champions League Finals. And the driving force behind it all is that purple fella in charge.

Put O'Neill, for example, in charge of Man Utd with the same players and their CL finals days are finished.

Poring over old videos, if you want a perfect example of players who are good but not exactly world-beaters who actually DID go on to beat the world, you only need to look in your own backyard.

Motivation. Work rate. The ability to play to a plan. Never-say-die attitude.
Those four things will overcome just about anything and allow you to beat just about anyone.

Carrick is average. But he's a cog that fits nicely into Sir Alex's machine to keep it ticking over.

Oh what a surprise

Carrick starts !

You lot are ridiculous do you know that !

If Carrick said he wanted to come to the Villa, I'd throw roses down at his feet and smell his farts.

he is a better and classier midfielder than we have had since Cowans.

Who you gonna say is not good enough for us next - Messi, Rooney , maybe Puyol ?
Your to Michael Carrick what Coopers Injury is to Beckford.

Whatever happened to Cooper's Injury?  He vanished after Beckford signed for Everton.

I am in favour of Dann, actually get them to throw in Johnson and Foster too...

Coopers Injury is banned for being a troll. He came back temporarily under the username WikiVilla before getting booted off again.

The Dann story is in the Mirror, so don't get too excited just yet.

Ferdinand isn't average, Giggs isn't average, Evra isn't average, Hernandez isn't average, Van Der Sar isn't average. They were outclassed last night by the best club side I've ever seen but they're still a team full of very good players.

I'd take Dann and Foster. Johnson is good also, but I'd prefer Dann I reckon. I'd also sign Carrick if he were available and we intended to play with 3 in the middle next year.

I think all those are average currently, Giggs didnt used to be and hernandez may prove not to be, but apart from Rooney and Vidic they are all average. I still find it hard to believe Man ure won the Title with such a poor side just goes to show how average the premier league is despite Sky telling us its the best in the world!

Coopers Injury was infact Jermaine Beckford, he'd reguarly go round premier league team forums talking himself up in the hope of a move, once he got the move to Everton his job was done so deleted all his accounts.

Vidic is very good but might only be average if he played for a team other than Man U as he wouldn't be allowed to kick everything that moves all game without fear of reprimand from the referee.
