Green is the same as Carson, No thanks. Foster would be my choice unless there is a better foreigner out there.

He's not bad. £4million isn't a bad price, actually. I'd still rather get Foster if possible, though.

Whoever comes in, I'd be surprised if they came as a reserve, to be honest.

Anyone think Owen Hargreaves is worth a gamble. The last crock we had from ManU didn't do too badly.

Risk, but if it worked out and he was prepared to take a pay cut in view of the risk involved then maybe worth that risk......On his day!!!!

Rumours are we are looking at a swoop for Jermaine Defoe, also Youssouf Mulumbu, WBA, Getafe's Derek Boateng and interest in Leicester City's Sol Bamba.

I've got a feeling if GH goes, then Makoun will go back to France

That would be a crying shame.

Green and Foster are both cack BTW.

They all seem much of a muchness to me, Green, Robinson, Foster. They're all pretty solid goalkeepers who at their best can look excellent, and at their worst can look shaky. For goalkeepers, consistency is the key thing, and I'd guess of those three Foster is about the most consistent.....but how much better than Friedel, I don't know.

I realise I could be shot down for this but i've just had abit of a crazy thought, we need a left back rite? What about Ridgewell? Dodgy at centre back but turned into a decent left back over the past couple of seasons, also dangerous at set pieces.

I know Green's made some high profile errors but one has to wonder how much of that is to do with what he has in front of him, and as a consequence of the circus of a club that he plays for? How much has that shaken his confidence. Now, I'd take Paul Robinson also, but bear in mind that prior to joining Blackburn he was very much viewed by many as Green is today. He's made a great comeback in his career, so it's possible Rob Green can given the right environment.

Luke, if you look down you will notice a little red dot on your trousers near your gonads. Anymore suggestions like that and I pull the trigger.

The Evening Standard think Rob Green is due to open Villa talks re a £4m move. I'd take him as a reserve, but £4m is a lot to spend on a reserve. Too many mistakes for me.

I've never been over impressed with Green, even before his World Cup calamity. There's always a mistake in his game waiting to cost his team big time.

Suppose Salifou's gone now. Strange he was with us as long as he was.

Rob Green is always just one blunder away.
