Now we're pretty much 99% safe. Any chance we can sack off gary mcallister and bring in Ray Wilkins? That would be a great addition to the squad in my view.

My word, Butch would make sure they kept on their feet.

Grant Holt from Norwich tho not sure of his age
He's 30.

Couldn't see him banging them in, in the Premiership.

Bassong for £4m would be a good signing.

Thought both Dunne and Collins looked vulnerable yday, would'nt mind Samba and Bassong as replacements, keeping Baker and Clark, and probably Carlos as well.

Adam.....no thanks, for me not that consistant a passer, with poor mobility.

I do rate Bassong, but we've another promising, young, left footed centre back... So no need.

He was funny last week.

But he would be a massive improvement on Mcallister in my opinion.

I think so. Even though it's great listening to him again co-commentating as it takes me back to the old football italia days on channel 4. He talks so much sense and would be a great addition to the villa team.

Why would he? Who has said McAllister is a poor coach?

I'm a bit worried about Wilkins to be honest. He's a lovely bloke but seems borderline mental lately.
Not on the same planet as Garth Crooks but possibly in lower orbit.

News of the World saying that Downing will be going to either Liverpool or Arsenal for £10m

3 points i want to make on this jamrag paper....

1. we brought Downing for £12m when he had a bad injury and now after the best season of his life he is only worth £10m
We didn't, we bought him for £10m.

Really? I think he's great! Everyone associated with the games has so much respect for the guy too. He knows the game inside out. Great with training, working with the kids. Look what he's done with Chelsea. It's not coincidence Chelsea have hit a glitch after Wilkins got sacked.
I'm not saying he's the whole reason the wheels fell off the Chelsea wagon but I think it's a big part of it.
I've heard from many sources that McAllister as a person and his training methods leave a lot to be desired.

I'm not sure about Adam although somebody with his passing range is desirable. I do think Delph is capable of that range of passing though and also adds the tenacity Adam lacks. But getting another player with a very good passing range, who can also mix it up is ideal as well as a cultured destroyer.

Parker could be great for a few years as the destroyer, definitely.

Agree about Adam, think he's a bit of highlights player. Also agree that Delph could well be the cultured passer we desire, along with Makoun and a new deep lying destroyer we'd have a cracking versatile midfield. My suggestion for the new MF/DMF player would be Etienne Capoue from Toulouse. I've mooted him before, in fact I'm probably sounding like a fanboy now, but I think he's a real talent, would be cheaper than Sissoko too. Him, Makoun & Delph could all inter-change from defensive to support duties and all three are good on the ball and have an eye for a pass.

Check him out below:
