Its easier to work out who will be going than coming.  7 of the eam that started yesterday are unlikely to be here next season

And I think that's a big part of our problem. You could argue that every member of the back five that played at Everton won't be here next season. And that they all know that, too.

I think he wants to get the most out of them before they fuck off in the Summer.

So just like he's done with Warnock then.

Even if Houllier were to go, do we want Dunne, Collins, Warnock and Beye, players that obviously don't give a shit about Aston Villa and have been fighting the management and club all season?

Absolutely positively definitely not.
I want all of those to get to fuck once the season has finished.

No.
But my belief is that they'll keep him on, even if we get relegated.

We shouldn't keep anybody who quite clearly doesn't give a shit about Villa.  Including the manager.

Agree totally.
But my gut feeling is that they're taking the line
'We're sticking by him, no matter what.'

I could be wrong, let's hope I am.

I agree. Regardless of what happens the line will be that he is not to blame, the players are and that he must get more time. They have bought into his ethos and showed remarkable faith in him by not sacking him after the various disasters.

As an aside. I will bet anyone good money that Dunne and Collins will be out the door in the new season. That will be the clear sign that they have no future at the club. It is obvious that they will be to them and us. It has probably lead to their lack of motivation and bad attitude. Even in public Houllier has alluded to it with the talk of 'five year habits'. Even if he has not overtly told them they are not staying they will probably have gained a sense that they will be out the door. As for him dropping Cuellar; he quite simply doesn't seem to rate him in the slightest. Dunne and Collins have been absolute disaster areas this season and have disrespected the club. They probably SHOULD be out the door but no matter how well Carlos plays when he comes in for one of them he is immediately dropped when they become available again. He will almost certainly be out the door in the summer too.

Sadly, you're right. Given everything that has happened this season, it really should be Cuellar plus 1 at the back for the remainder of the season. I never expected to see both Dunne and Collins starting on Saturday.

I don't know what it is with Cuellar. I rate him but that's now O'Neill and Houllier who haven't regularly selected him at centre-back.

How on Earth are you so in touch with the manager's discussions with  his players? Are you involved in the Villa set up at an executive level?  Just how the holy fuck do you know that Houllier has told Dunne and Collins, the heart of one of the best defences in the Prem last season, that they had no future at the Villa?  Or is this just anti-Houllier bile being self righteously spouted??  I know where my money lies.

I simply base the comparison on what both have said publicly about their respective players. MON talked up the likes of McCann, Samuel and even Angel - but that didn't stop him moving them on when the time came. Maybe he said one thing in the press and another to them, I don't know. That would be speculation. It can't have hurt their morale for the manager to praise them in public though, to suggest that they had longterm futures at the club. And judging by their form in that first half of the campaign, it looks like they bought into it too.

In contrast, GH has offered little> no public encouragement to struggling players this year. In fact he seems to prefer to put the boot in. Each to his own, but our precarious league position seems to underline the point that his method isn't working.

Oh, and lay off the acid Dr Gonzo. It's clearly rotting your brain and ability to reason.

'The Mirror reports that midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker is ready to quit the Premier League and head for sunnier climes when his Aston Villa contract expires this summer, with Valencia, Seville, Roma, Juventus and Napoli all rumoured to be interested in securing his signature.'

His agent deserves every penny he's on as to get even the Mirror to believe Juventus are interested in our Nige is a master stroke!

For me., Warnock,. Friedel,. Dunne,. Collins,.Beye.,Osborne,. Salifou.,NRC.,Petrov.Carew and Heskey can all go., and i think we will be better off without them.

In., N'Zogbia., Sissoko,. hopefully Taiwo. young LB from Southampton,. Walker or Onohua. Would'nt mind Huth., and would'nt mind Nile Ranger either.

Our priority is as good a no 10 player as we can afford.Maybe Gervinhio,. have'nt seen enough of him tbh.

Napoli could yet win Serie A. Imagine them unveiling Reo-Choker as their key new signing for the Champs League...He did run around in an old Maradona top as a young lad though, so maybe it's his destiny.

what you doing with Ireland?   Sissoko said he will only join a chumps league team, so maybe Ged can do a swap with NRC for Miloš Krasić ?   ;-#

Didn't mysteryman say that he bawled
'Fuck you and this club.' ?

He's normally spot on.
