After the team bonding episode, they were both told that they can piss off in the summer.

Even if GH possibly doesn't believe it himself, Friedel, Collins and Dunne might have benefited from being made to feel they have an active stake in the future of the club. As it is, they most likely know they're on their way out and seem to be playing accordingly.  Man management. Or just plain old good management, whatever you want to call it.

How on Earth are you so in touch with the manager's discussions with  his players? Are you involved in the Villa set up at an executive level?  Just how the holy fuck do you know that Houllier has told Dunne and Collins, the heart of one of the best defences in the Prem last season, that they had no future at the Villa?  Or is this just anti-Houllier bile being self righteously spouted??  I know where my money lies.
[/quote]

In all fairness their performances on the pitch and off the field conduct says a lot about their state of mind, relationship with the manager and future at the club.

Agreed. Keep Cuellar and Clark and look for two new centre backs, or just one if we're going with Nathan Baker.

I'd say those out the door if Gezza stays are:-
Dunne
Collins
Warnock
Beye

Those out the door regardless:-
Freidel
Young
Heskey

Add to that one of Petrov or NRC and we've got some major recruitment to do!

thing about that is, He dropped Cuellar to accomodate the two? Does not suggest to me that they are finished?

I think he wants to get the most out of them before they fuck off in the Summer.

The sickening thing is that if we go down, they'll get a handsome transfer to another Premiership club and be quids in.

Even if Houllier were to go, do we want Dunne, Collins, Warnock and Beye, players that obviously don't give a shit about Aston Villa and have been fighting the management and club all season?

No.
But my belief is that they'll keep him on, even if we get relegated.

We shouldn't keep anybody who quite clearly doesn't give a shit about Villa.  Including the manager.

Agree totally.
But my gut feeling is that they're taking the line
'We're sticking by him, no matter what.'

I could be wrong, let's hope I am.

I'm not sure exactly what Warnock and Beye have actually done wrong, other than not being rated by the manager?

Warnock has apperently caused trouble in training, but I haven't got a clue what Beye has done.

I'm of the opinion that he's gone in the summer whether we stay up or not.
