Yes letting cahill go and spending far more on Curtis davies was a very poor bit of business- I think many of us wanted cahill to stay and although he had asked to go it was only because of a lack of games at 1st team level. He will no doubt go to replace terry in the England team and get a move to a big 4 side for £15m plus - a sad loss to us.

Interesting to see GED telling fans they need to get used to the fact that he will rotate his playing squad and I hope we can benefit from this with a strong finish to the season while other teams run out of steam.

Shrek, he played very well at Villa Park, got an assist, then had a good game against Chelsea last week

He looked o.k for us when he first played, scored that cracker at Everton but I expect him to return to being shite soon after.

Speaking of Cahill, my seven year old lad was opening a couple of packets of 'Match Attax' cards this morning, calling out the names as he did so. He shouted out, 'Gary Cahill, Bolton' and I burst into tears in the kitchen...

Anyway, Sidwell. Just confirming what I thought - he's a decent player, better suited to a 'smaller' club. He'll do well at Fulham, where the expectation level is a bit lower than at Villa, I think.

I think we have a sell on fee but not sure what percentage it is , should be a tidy sum anyway.

Quote from: BBC Gossip Page
Aston Villa are keeping tabs on Barcelona's out-of-favour defender Gabriel Milito and hope to snap him up for free in the summer.
Full story: talkSPORT

Probably no truth in this as its a highly speculative talkSPORT story. He is a free agent in the summer, and unlikely to remain in Barcelona despite costing them €20M. Seems he has been injured for the best part of two years during his four year contract there.

Oooh how do you know that? I didn't think we did sell on clauses.
